I never understood how all those parts got an attack in in a single round. Does he rotate his body and rub up against you? In the myths they all had rocks they threw, which made sense how they can all hit you. It would be more appropriate for him to never be flanked and have some kind of all-direction cleave.

The Pathfinder version just makes it so whenever it attacks, it hits everything within its reach (assuming it beats their AC), rather than giving them 100 attacks in a full attack.

I don't think you understand 3.x logic son. If a monster has x things that can hurt you it gets x attacks. That's why the Tarrasque gets a bite attack, two separate claw attacks, a tail slap, and not one but two separate horn attacks in one round. DBZ characters can't twist their bodies around to make that many attacks in six seconds.

He's the damn DM, he can do what he wants. Plus, it's only after introducing everyone to the system and playing one-shots in it for awhile on multiple occasions, so it's not like throwing them into the deep end of a system they don't know already.

Sounds like a fun idea to me.

It's a D&D convention... unique to 3.x? Either way, other gaming systems don't have it.

If there's a cliche, it's good w/ longsword, evil w/ scimitar... but not a hugely overdone cliche in actual games. Tolkien and... who exactly does this on a regular basis?

You can always two weapon fight with your fists or your other hand. 3.x is halfway to being a very awkward physics simulator.

That's why a chicken has stats even though a chicken will never harm a party member - because that chicken could have Enlarge Monster cast on it, and then you'd follow the rules to see how damage a large chicken would do.

He has a visually distinct style that is unfortunately imitated by a good deal too many aspiring artists in the fantasy game genre. He is a technically accomplished artist, but he is by no means "great."
