Am I better off learning & DMing Pathfinder, 2e or 5e?
Main appeal of 2e is the shitload of old school modules available. Though I hear Pathfinder is the shit and 5e is a better throwback to older editions.

5e if you actually want to play with people
2e if you want to be the 'alpha nerd' and have no friends
Pathfinder if you have no god damn idea what you're doing

You're better off learning the edition that people around you want to use.

It'll be my roommates, who are utterly indifferent. They just wanna have fun without needing to obsess over rules.

5e then. The other two systems have far more rules.

5e for sure then. And it is so much easier to learn to DM than Pathfinder.
2e is probably a bit harder than 5e as well. Charts and all that.

Is there an easy way to convert 1e/2e/DCC modules to work for 5e?

You gotta have a little bit of know-how, but it is quite possible. An acquaintance of mine ran a really successful conversion of The Dancing Hut of Baba Yaga for 5e.

Official conversion guide is here:

You know what, I never really understood that. To me, the module is the module. The module calls for orcs? I use orcs, stats as needed.
There is no official conversion process. But for the most part I really don't think any is needed.
I mean, it is nice when all the stats are right there in the module, THAC0 to saving throws. But I just never felt it was needed.
I've run a couple of 3e modules now, and would not hesitate to do a 2e module if I saw one I liked. Your biggest challenge is going to be deciding the difficulty of the tests your players make. After that...probably deciding what saving throw to use and what trap effects will be (2e had a bunch of save or die stuff). But it is all stuff you can decide on the fly.
Just have some monster stat lines handy.

lol, I guess I was wrong. There is an official process.
