ADB saved Night Lords. True/false?
I certainly liked them quite a bit more as a consequence, to be sure.

Am I the only one that ended up feeling quite sorry for Uzas? How he'd occasionally become lucid just long enough to be confused about the things he'd done.

Some armies really benefit from BL books. Not always, but some. The Night Lords are one, since the codexes play them up to be one-note crazy fucking morons.
Path of the Dark Eldar did the same, where the codexes made out the Dark Eldar to be much the same as the Night Lords: crazy murderhobo fucknuts. Path of the Dark Eldar showed that they had a method to the madness of their society, that there was a structure and even stores and shopkeepers, and manic backstabbing, while certainly part of their culture, had a time and place, and was generally not allowed to occur on the streets of kabal-held territories.

No. Uzas did nothing wrong.
>Talos slapped his crackling sword blade against the stonework to get Uzas’s attention. It left a scorch mark. ‘Bolter,’ he said. ‘What?’ ‘Use your bolter, brother. We’re taking a defensive position in this chamber. Too many foes to charge.’ Uzas hesitated, perhaps not comprehending. He looked down at the axe and gladius in his hands. ‘Use your bolter,’ Xarl snapped. ‘Look at us against this wall, freak. Does it look like we’re charging?’ Uzas sheathed his weapons at last, and unlimbered his bolter. It caught the prophet’s eye with the sting of memory; the same relic Malcharion had commissioned to honour Uzas’s deeds in a brighter, better age. ‘Uzas,’ he said. ‘Hnnh?’ Talos could hear the bootsteps drawing closer, along with the shouted, oath-rich encouragements of the squads’ officers. ‘Brother, I remember when you were given that weapon. Do you?’ Uzas clutched the bolter tighter. ‘I... Yes.’ The prophet nodded. ‘Use it well. Here they come.’

>‘What’s wrong with you now?’ Cyrion asked. ‘My hands are red,’ said Uzas. ‘Sinners have red hands. The Primarch’s Law.’ Uzas lifted his head, turning his bruised and bloody face to Cyrion. ‘What did I do wrong? Why are my hands painted in sinners’ scarlet?’

>‘My chronicle already ends in glory. Captain Malcharion, reborn in unbreakable iron, slaying Raguel the Suffer of the Ninth Legion for the second time, before at last passing into eternal slumber. That is a fine legend, is it not?’
Even without understanding the meaning of the words, she felt their significance. ‘Yes, lord.’
‘Who would ruin their legend with one last, untold tale? Who would cast aside the slaughter of an Imperial hero in favour of saving a single human from death in the infinite dark?’
Malcharion never gave her time to answer. His weapons rose even as he pivoted, and filled the chamber with echoing, deafening gunfire.

His competition.

No, Simon Spurrier did. Lord of the Night predates the First Claw books, and is still responsible for the iconic portrayal of the Night Lords. It's like how the Fire Warrior novel made Tau cool.
Loved these books, but I was a little bothered that they seem to go through starships at a hell of a lick.
Can we all just take a moment to remember that time Xarl Headbutt a fully armored Nova marine Champion to death with his bare skull. It's been years since I've read that scene and it still gives me a chub.

lol Uzas looking like he's taking a shit
>>43895960
file name should be 'wild niggas'
>>43896488
Still holds up well.
If I remember correctly Spurrier had a hell of a time dealing with GW while he was writing it, which is one of the reasons he never went back to them. That, and a successful career in comics.
Best Legion thread?

Seriously? I really liked Sahaal's radical adventure through time. I feel it portrayed the two halves of the legion fairly well between Kreig and Sahaal.

Best Legion thread, commence
Thinking of making a shirt for NL. Anyone got a stylized "batty" background for their icon?

Really liked the frank conversation he had with Interrogator Ashyn while they were both trapped in his head.
>Emps surely loves me even though I'm a psyker.
>"He had assassins kill his own SON. What the hell makes you think you won't get the same once your usefulness is at an end?"And now they're on wacky adventures, the renegade interrogator and her BestLegion husbando.
Bitches this is how you Night Lord.
Saved is defs the wrong word to use here. There's no saving them. Their own primarch couldn't.
Made more interesting for sure though.

>this is how the dressed before the heresy and they dont like the chaos gods
Are the night lords closet loyalists?
>>43905894
that's post-heresy anon
>>43905939
Add some blood and a few *more* spikes/horns and then you have post heresy night lords. Really not much of a difference.
>>43894139
I can't say one way or the other. But it was certainly nice reading about a legion/warband constantly on the verge of collapse

The funny part is, Sahaal is wrong about that. So is Konrad!
See, Night Haunter died after the Heresy. The decision to send Assassins couldn't have been the Emperor's: he was locked in the Golden Throne. I'm sure he had a lot more to worry about than "Oh, and send someone to kill Konrad."
