There is horrors in Creation that can freeze blood in the veins of even the bravest mortals with their mere sight. Worse still, there is beings whose deceptive beauty and poisoned words easily bend mortals, no matter how faithful, to their will. But Dragon-Blooded commanders can bring an army with them even to the places where the human bravery falters and human will fails - an army made of Essence and pure elements. It is said that Immaculate Pasiap himself invented Stalwart Earthen Host as a mean to combat Anathema who was able to enslave any mortal and nearly any Terrestrial with a single glance, and this Charm gained widespread popularity among Dragon-Blooded officers since then.
The Dragon-Blood touches a large quantity of the charms associated element with his palms, and for every 3 motes spent on this Charm, one animated figure of an armed and armored soldier rises from the earth. Elemental soldiers have the base statistics of elite troops (Exalted p.280), except that they soak lethal damage with their full Stamina, and have no will of their own, obeying all orders of their creator unquestioningly. They follow normal construct rules.

Seems to me like it could reasonably be an Infernal exaltation, except for the fact that he's dead.

At Essence 5+, experienced users of this Charm can customize equipment of their creations. If he does so, he can create soldiers with any mundane weapons and armor of standard quality, but all soldiers created by a single invocation of this Charm must be armed and equipped similarly. This Charm cannot be invoked if this user doesn't have access to large amounts of the associated element. If one of the created golems is destroyed before duration of the Charm ends, the Essence committed to creation of this particular soldier becomes free. All equipment is also made of the same element and both it and the golem dissolves into it upon death.
All created soldiers automatically have benefits of Enfolded in the Dragon’s Wings Charm, as if it was used on them by their creator.
Earth: Clay and soil golems.
Water: Flowing soldiers made of water with the purity of it's source.
Wood: Small trees and shrubs twisted into humanoid shape.
Air: Figures made of mist and cloudstuff. Touching them feels like resisting intense hurricane force winds, though they appear absolutely calm.
Fire: As with wood, but using mostly dried and dead branches and coal, most of their "flesh" is made of illusory flame much like the air version, only their skeleton is solid.
This might seem pretty reasonable, butit's the only homebrew I've actually used in game.

A whole tree of fertility-related charms capped at the top with a primae noctis deal wherein the first child concived by any couple within the area the solar consecrated would be the solar's, with the couple rolling off against each others stamina+resistance and the loser being replaced by the solar as the parent.
It was just supposed be a way to bind my character more strongly to the kingdom he was building and be a fairly mild and unobtrusive trip to my magical realm, more fluff than anything, but it turned out to have pretty major in game effects when things came to the final showdown and my character showed up with an army twice the size of anyone else's and made up of half-castes instead of heroic mortals and a smattering of terrestrials.
If the devs have explicitly avoided using Western Fantasy tropes, then what exactly is the East supposed to be? All the forests and rolling plains look like pretty much the perfect place for a more traditional fantasy feel.
Though, with Exalted's overall themes it would probably end being more like old European myth than LotR-style fantasy.
Fellow storytellers, is it me or in Exalted games people go out of their way to try to save the female antagonists a lot? I recently notice sending an unhinged insane abyssal woman at the party. Rather than them killing her like I expected, they managed to avoid that. I tried the same thing in a different campaign with a male, he was gibed.

I always felt the East read more into either sub-tropical rainforest (Cambodia, Thailand) closer to the Pole rather than Europe, with the Northeast becoming more taiga and the Southeast being more African savanna.

Exigents are the "in case of emergency break glass" button for the gods. In a true crisis, any god can gain permission from the Unconquered Sun to create a unique Champion, an Exalt who partakes of their essence. Exigents are generally about as strong as a Dragon-Blood, though some are *much* stronger. The consequence of their creation is that the god who made them loses a lot of his personal power. For very weak gods or very strong Exigents, it can kill the god that made them, so they're sort of a "Everything's fucked anyway so I might as well do it" tactic.

Hammer on Iron no longer ignores Hardness, which is a good thing, but FFFO and Ferocious Jab still make it easily the strongest offensive charm in the game.

Bridge keyword lets you qualify for certain charms without buying the rest of the Integrity charm tree (i.e. qualifying for the meditation charms with a certain number of Martial Arts charms, rather than the rest of Integrity).

It especially paints how thin the line between Solars and Abyssals is: both of them can tell a guy he's so worthless that he's better off being recycled into worm food and someone else's soul, but for the Solar it has to actually be true for it to work.

It really is. So far I've only seen a couple of nice pieces (mostly the stained-glass mosaics at the beginning) but the majority is this ... soggy blurry mess. The watercolor effects are pretty on the page, but the accompanying attempt on the art is ... disjointed. Hell I think there's a bit of Exigent art in their splash page where the guy's face is out of line with his skull.
I'm not a professional drawfag by any stretch of the imagination but some of this is kinda embarrassing.

How is it fixed? It's pretty much unchanged. The only attacks it does not qualify against are those that

None of the effects mentioned there are what makes the charm busted.

1E's mechanics were unequivocably worse in general. Solars were even more dominant than they were in 2E, and other than the Sids, basically everyone was worse off.
However, 1E's lore was a jagged mountainrange of "fucking awesome" highs and "fucking terrible" lows, which is much better for a lot of people than 2E's, which got rid of nearly all the highs in exchange for filling in only most of the lows.
So, uh, page 575. 3 o'clock looks very much to me like the cover of Crusader Kings 2, and I'm pretty sure 7 o'clock was a Steam event banner? Is this just me?

I can see where you're coming from, but I prefer 1e for the thick lines and the way it conveyed the general strangeness of the setting. 2e's art style felt too bland to me, though it did convey everything consistently.
3e's art is all over the map. There are a lot of pretty pieces, reminding me of the gorgeous Lot5r 4e book, but there are others that seem half-done or nonsensical. Like the 3d art. I think 3d in general doesn't belong in rpg book, but the 3d pieces are especially deviant-art level bad.
Though apparently the art was optimized for paper and not on a screen, so I'll leave my final judgement for when I have the book.

My real problem with 1efags (and the 3e devs) is that 2e's mechanics were objectively bad and there is nothing wrong with shitting all day on them. 2e's fluff on the other hand is a matter of subjective taste and yet people still act like insufferable cunts about it.

As I said, being able to counter the newly exempted effects is not why the charm is broken in the first place, it's completely negating onslaught & wound penalties for the entire the scene. Flow Like Blood, a comparable charm in Dodge, an ability that has *not getting hit as its sole purpose*, has the prerequisite that you need to have a higher initiative to ignore penalties.

The combat system is genuinely interesting, as long as action order changing each turn doesn't scare you off. It basically uses your Initiative as a second tier of hit points, and different powers interact with that versus normal Wounds in different ways.
It also means it keeps the "you can die in one hit" thematic feel without PCs actually having to worry about dying in one hit, since they're skilled enough to have their Initiative as a buffer.
Also, the sorcerous works system is interesting, and most Charms are at least serviceable.
The major problems are
- the minor but pervasive mechanical clunkiness inherited from 2e, like the arrangement of Abilities
- Craft being so dumb, seriously, so dumb
- Martial Arts now being a huge point sink, so it's even dumber than in 2e to actually be a martial artist
- way too many Charms that just do stuff equivalent to "get +1 or +2 on rolls in X situation"

Wording in both this and the playtest. A couple of sessions back I used TCRA and, since it 'counts as my turn' used my reflexive move and one extra step to move three range bands and hit someone. Which, yeah, is a bit good.
But since you can only move on your turn, and this counts as your turn, why specify that it doesn't consume your move. Unless you can move /after/ you make the attack (which would be a bit weird).

It also felt like it was a grand cataclysmic weapon worthy of an Exalt that, due to having ~20 Evocations, needed an entire character arc or story just to master the damn thing. On the other hand, they're just bad pictures, and as I said, those were to be expected, so even if I personally very much dislike them, I won't hold that against the book anymore than I hold it against other books.
Meaning, I'll bitch and moan about how shitty they are, but won't conclude the book's a shitshow because of them. If that makes sense.
