Guys, I want to make a set of items based on materials made out of animals. I need six kinds of such materials and so far I came up with:
1. Bone
2. Chitin
3. Fur
4. Leather
5. Scales
I need another one - what could it be?
Sinew

Sinew.
Feathers.
Sinew.
Teeth.
Claws.
Horns.

I thought it is only good for strings and such.
Can you make, say, greaves or gloves out of it?

Fangs and claws are bone/chitin pretty much.

Shell.

That's chitin.

I like feathers. If you're making a set of items it would be the extremely very light but high magic/manoeuvrability gear. Similarly you could have silk armour, woven from threads of giant spider silk. That would be like mithral in that it's extremely light but also exceedingly strong.
You could also go with wood maybe. I know it's not an animal part, but treants maybe?

Can you make an actual material out of feathers?
I though it is used only as stuffing.

It's very flexible and strong, and it can be thin in strands.
If you were using scales, chitin, or bone it would be useful for stringing together individual plates. Kind of like sewing.

Well what the fuck kind of items do you want? You asked, we provided. Did you mean to ask for armor?
>>43098591
Fabric, not armor per se.
Don't be mad pls.

I mean, you can't make armour out of chitin either, it's far too weak unless it's so large it's also unwieldy.
You could string together feathers to make a cloak, hat, or shirt I guess.
Silk is probably the better option, and it's kind of interesting as it would look like normal clothing until someone tried to cut it and found it was extremely tough. It's also not super far fetched in a world with giant spiders, because people have already attempted to make garments out of spider silk.

10/10 troll. Didn't see it coming at all. Still not sure if it really is.

Would scales work? Like from a fish?
>>43098637
I won't be making armor, just clothes.
>>43098667
Yes.

Pls man, I don't have knowledge about natural materials, but this is not a reason to bully me.

Then spider silk is even better.
