Nope, just do like >>689448 said, use GEfemale head type A, and practice. You can't expect to be able to make good models right off the bat. I spent months just listening to podcasts, and messing with the sliders until I was comfortable showing any of my models online, and even then, it was quite a while before people started saying "wow, that's pretty good.", or "would you mind sharing that?".
Long story short, keep at it, find a combination of body/skin/bumps/etc that you like, and come up with a style of your own. Don't be discouraged, despite how intimidating it may seem at first.

For me, I think I have my game graphically sort of on the level I want. I still have some graphic bugs with skins I don't know how to solve. But mostly it's a matter of a long time of trial & effort, installing new stuff and reading both Modsgarden and these threads. You gotta try out different things to find out what suits you the most and then build your own "look" from there.
The game isn't really very flexible and using the skins and bumps can be intimidating at first but the logic is there and once you get it down, it opens up whole new possibilities.

I'd remove all files from the Archives, replace with the efficient version, and then move all of the hair/item/tools/body & face mods you've acquired over the years back into it.
Much like the other anon mentioned however my TK17 is also held together with hopes, dreams and pieces of chewing gum. I'd hate to fuck it all up. Besides--turns out the addition of some .txx's changes things drastically.
For example I can download Kasha's femmeboi body and throw it into my Archives folder. What it does however is kill the facemod for females that I have. What this allows me to do is load VerySlow's faces with perfect clarity, which is weird as fuck because once I delete the mod everything goes back to normal and his save's go back to being complete dogshit on my client.

Well my problem is basically this. It looks like only half the skin is getting the bump or something. It appears on arms and back of the thighs. (try to focus on her arm in this pic.)
The problem is it appears completely randomly, when I put the exact same skin on two models the other one might get the bug and the other one not. Most of the times it's there. Nowadays I tend to use Veryslow's hdbh4 base which mostly - along side with VS body (but not body mod!) gets rid of the bug. But on other skins like VS dry it's there no matter what the bump is. It's not just VS skins, though, it's the same exact thing on realisticskin etc. I've tried lots of different things.
So whenever someone posts a working skin and working bumps I try them out. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

You're gonna lose hours and hours no matter what, spending time getting your character just right, finding poses etc.
Just grab JSGME mod manager, Hook 4 with your preferred variation, a hook4 bump texture for your characters, and then a few hairs, items of clothing, a room etc that you think you'll be using a lot.
Outside of clothes/hair, I have very little in the way of graphic alterations like sweetfx etc and my game looks fine. It'll take 5 minutes to take a huge jump from vanilla to modded with hook stuff, but taking the next leap to realistic, really nice graphics is what will take hours.

FallOut4's textures are trash tier. I don't believe their 'Ultra' textures for the PC are really 'Ultra'. They're probably just Medium quality textures enlarged with Photoshop to increase the size and VRAM usage to make it technically appear Ultra, but the visual quality is still shit.

All you need is the blank/empty room by VerySlow and the level definition he provided with it. No tricks--just lighting. Oh! And I used Shox's sweat bumpmaps because it's pretty godlike when combined with any type of female muscle. I couldn't tell you the hair I'm using.
