You can use JDownloader2 to download a .zip file with the individual .jpgs. FireFox's addon Video DownloadHelper can download said archive as an .mp4 file; rename it to .zip and you can extract it with a program of your choice (I tested it with 7zip). You can then add said .jpg files to a slideshow (e.g. with Infanview) and practically have a .gif.
Yeah, a lot of work to download a .gif file.
