I'm not saying 0.5 goals per game isn't acceptable, I'm saying it's a considerably lower than in "regular" games. It's expected to see both Messi and Ronaldo score less in Finals than they usually do because Finals are usually more defensive games, especially when two big teams are playing.
As for Messi not being a centreforward, neither is Ronaldo.

While both are true, most of Messi's goals come after receiving the ball inside the area - meaning he scores goals like any forward would. The same is true for Ronaldo.
