I mis-remembered what WAGsguy posted. He got her to driver his mother to the British GP and then left her outside with no tickets or pass.
He made her drive his mother to the British GP

>Kimberley told of the fateful day last September when she realised she might be pregnant and bought a testing kit.
>She said: "I took it home and asked a friend to come over. When the line began to turn blue I was numb.
>"I knew Jenson would not stick by me. It was always made clear to me that his career came first and that if I had a baby, things would not work for us.
>That night the frightened teenager phoned Button, who was abroad.
>She said: "I was crying and blurted out, I'm pregnant'. Part of me hoped he would be pleased, but the first thing he said was, "Are you going to keep it?'"

>As Button was preparing for today's Spanish Grand Prix with the BMW Williams team, Kimberley told how she:
>Believed she would spend her life with the F1 sensation despite his warnings that an early baby had no place in his plans;
>Faced her NHS abortion without her lover - instead he stayed driving in Spain;
>Felt stunned six months later when Button announced he no longer wanted a serious girlfriend and
>Hoped for a reconciliation when she agreed to drive his mother to the British Grand Prix - only to be coldly snubbed again

Prost v. Senna 1985, part II: British GP edition

the editing feels a little off since Senna's pass into Stowe was shown in replay as live TV coverage was initially focused on Lauda's engine failing, so I had to splice it in

>The crash was the end for de Cesaris at Ligier, with team owner Guy Ligier firing the Italian after he saw a replay of the crash stating "I can no longer afford to keep employing this man" referring to the constant repair bills from de Cesaris's crashes since he joined the team in 1984. When he returned to the pits, de Cesaris told the team that the reason for his DNF was that the car had stalled and wouldn't restart. It was reported at that point that the Ligier team had not seen a replay of the accident.

Ricciardo is a fucking meme. He's 27 and has 3 wins and 1 pole to his name. At his age Vettel already had 4 world championships. Most of the great world champions already have at least 1xWDC by that age. He's literally getting BTFO by 18 year old Pepe the Frog from fucking Netherlands. He can't even warm his tires up and people are talking about him winning a WDC.

Just admit RIC>VET. I'm not saying Ricky is better then Frogstappen. And I'm not saying RIC is gonna be 8 WDC's some day, he's just obviously better then Vettel who lucked into his 4 WDC's. He almost fucked it twice, with a dominating car, and Alonso driving a brick that said Ferrari on it. Then he then lost to Ricky in 2014 and then jumped into a new Ferrari brick because he wants to play Schumi.

RBR will overtake Ferrari in the constructors and both RIC and VES are likely to catch up to VET in points. The real question isn't even RIC vs VET, it's really RIC vs VES and it's seems obvious how that's gonna play out.

>>
>>69499503
Yep
A Halo only really stops large debris and if you roll you won be sitting on your head

It's a band-aid for the issue of driver safety not a final solution. If they go the Halo route they will just keep adding things to it so they will just end up with a stack of band-aids that doesn't fully solve the issue

Jensen Button is the best F1 driver in history. That's a FACT

He beat his teammate every season
He fought his way to a WDC in a underperforming car
He had the greatest drive in F1 history, at Canada in 2011
And he consistently puts the struggling Mclaren in the points, just like he did with Honda a decade ago

Fangio, Senna, and Schumacher combined couldn't muster the talent that Button has in one finger, so extraordinary is his car control

We're pretty lucky here for that stuff. You can get a decent used package for around £1500 and £100 odd for race entry with fuel and other stuff on top. Obviously you can spend many times more than that but you can have a great race with people even if you're not right at the top.
I have no idea what it's like where you are but here the 'professional' guys are more interested in the normal F1 ladder short circuit kart series than superkarts. If you haven't already find out if there's any races going on and talk to some guys on a practice day or after the races, in my experience they are always glad to help out people getting into it.

>>69503101
There were yellows. But it still wasn't his fault because important parts of the car had problems.
>>
>>69503101

If you crash under yellows its technically always the driver's fault unless it is a mechanical failure.

He was also pushing hard in crazy rain conditions on worn interns for no real reason and ignored yellow flags

Of course it is partially Charlies/the marshalls fault for allowing a tractor onto a live race track but had Bianchi followed the rules (of yellow flags) then he wouldn't have went on and crashed.

On the off chance I find myself with a shitload of money somehow, I'm 99% certain I'm going to retire early and spent the rest of my days going to a few F1 races each year, and then just spend the rest of my time karting. Every time I've tried it, its been so much bloody fun. But the problem with Motorsport in general as an interest is how damn expensive it is if you want to get into it yourself regularly. Its not like basketball or football where the cost of entry is so low in comparison. It sucks.

That corner was supposed to be taken flat out anyway.

Senna's car temporarily lost grip during the corner and oversteered, Senna then counter steered but the car immediately regained grip and then went off in the direction of the wall on the outside.

The steering column may have also contributed to the crash in some way.

Wasn't it bumpy and low grip at the deep end of that corner which is why he couldn't save it after the oversteer moment? Senna here is portrait more for his humanistic side than driving. How he was humble and created a organization that helps the poor areas, pretty nice stuff. In his Institute main HQ he was an actual McLaren from the 90's that he won in a bet against Ron Dennis.

I think you guys are overestimating how many people on a grid will win a(nother) WDC in the future. Look at the lineup for any given year and it's extremely rare for the number to be above 4.

The majority of drivers never win a race. Even the majority of those driving F1 for several years

That's why I only picked one of the current top drivers (Hamilton) to win another (and I only say that because he'll win this year)

Ricciardo is a bit of a longshot, I'm not sure if he will to be honest.

But Max will just because of the hype surrounding him, which means a team with a good car will always put their weight 100% behind him, so he'll win one.

Perez I do think is a talent for the future and, I dunno, maybe a WDC is a longshot. But I think he will definitely end up in a top team.

And Vandoorne isn't currently on the grid really is he. But I reckon he's another good bet for the future.

Yeah they probably won't all win WDCs but I at least think that all those five will CONTEND for a WDC.

>I at least think that all those five will CONTEND for a WDC.
Sure, but who can contend is a much easier question
>>
>>69504643

Ricciardo in the right car and if he can uncuck himself, he definitely can. Not afraid to fight at the front and not a huge choker, quite confident overall at least for now. All could change if he succumbs to the Webber curse.

Max will win like 5 because he is already in a top team and rated highly by every person that matters and has 20 years left in the sport.

Perez won't. His only top team chance is Ferrari and he isn't the only one in contention for that seat and even if he gets to Ferrari they won't let him beat Vettel.

Vandoorne can if he ever gets a drive lol assuming he doesn't get fully choked by Alonso, or Alonso retires eventually. I don't think Alonso will permit Vandoorne to beat him no matter how good and quick he might be.

Also bear in mind that there's going to be a lot of great talent coming into F1. Hell, maybe even Wehrlein will inherit the Merc drive. I'm sure he could perform at Rosberg-tier levels in a great car at the minimum. Also GP3/GP2 lads seem to have some paths open to an F1 future already and of course..

So while unconscious he braked down from 300 to 200kmh and was still giving steering input

>Frank Williams ordered the destruction of the wreck once returned to England, INCLUDING the black box and everything
That's not suspicious at all, nope

What a fucker, trying to cover for Williams, Senna's death was their fault, Neweys fault, Williams' fault, they put him in a car with a fatigued steering column that snapped at a time of when it would be under the most pressure (flat out in a corner). It was OBVIOUSLY the steering that failed, why would Senna go straight into the fucking wall after realizing he was leaving the track, he braked hard and OF COURSE would have yanked the wheel to the left to not hit head on. He couldn't because the fucking car wasn't reacting.

Disgusting British "media" trying to cloud the facts.

Of course talent-wise I'm sure any of those guys could do it, except maybe Magnussen. desu it's hard to assess how good Magnussen actually is, McLaren season was rookie shit and at least he's beating Palmer at Renault

If you watch the on board video of the last lap leading up to the crash the amount of travel the steering wheel has noticeably increases from the start of the video to the last corner, gradually.

Any racer could look at the footage and tell there is no countersteering, he just takes the corner as usual and doesn't even attempt to countersteer in the last fraction of footage (or make any particularly strong rotation on the wheel)

The car was turning and then just stopped. If it wasn't the much fabled fatigued column then it was definitely a mechanical failure of some kind.

Also loss of DF due to 'porpoising' would have made the car rotate (spin out) of the corner, whereas it just went straight on from the loss of control.

I have to blame the column because most other functions of the car would have induced some rotation prior to impact or prevented the amount of deceleration that senna was able to produce prior to leaving the track through braking.

That Ferrari had a really odd throttle/engine map, in Silverstone, they just couldn't get on the throttle at all.
>>
>>69505869

Something was seriously up with their gearboxes, I think they choose to run a 'safe' setting and avoid the penalty for changing the box and are probably looking for a fix before the next race.
>>
>>69505967
Are you aware we're not talking about current Ferrari

Their main problem anyway, is shit aero because Italians only know about building fast engines, not so much aerodynamics. Plus reliability like all fucking Italian cars ever made
>>
Also doesn't Vetlel keep complaining about his car becoming slower and slower with each lap? Especially during quali. The wear on the car and gearbox is crazy shit. Bad gearboxes and shifting probably leads to what he complains about, the piece of shit isn't able to torque out the way it should as the race goes on so it's irrelevant whether the engine does 1000hp or 1500hp.

>>
>>69506334

>>
>>69506117

It could be the gearbox but I think most of their problems with this come with the tires. Comparatively also Mercedes turn their engines up for Q2 and Q3 which is a mode they only use for literally 2-3 laps total per weekend as it is too straining/risky to use for longer.

The current Ferrari is just not very good and I think it only functions well on the right surface when the track is hot. Had the quali at Austria been 30 degrees they probably would have been very close to the Merc.

I'm not a Ferrari apologist but coincidentally the race and/or quali conditions for the last many races have been very rainy/cloudy/mild temperatures.

Ferrari were pretty good in Bahrain and China, even very close in China quali until both of them choked at the hairpin (and race). Russia Vettel got fucked but Merc was stronger. Spain Ferrari were pretty decent but not amazing, supposedly setup issues but that's just what they say.

Canada, Monaco, Austria and Britain were all either cloudy or rainy, i.e. not hot and sunny.

Baku Mercedes just had the advantage.

Maybe Ferrari is just shit everywhere, I dunno.

They vary quite alot, you can buy a £500 snotter and do quite well still if you set it up right, i laugh at people who have to buy the newest chassis every new season thinking it will make them win when they don't realise the chassis techology and development has barely changed in the last 15 years, probably more.

I paid £3000 for mine, the engine alone is worth £2000-2500 and then i completely stripped it down and rebuilt it replacing every nut and bolt and got everything exactly how i wanted it.

The kart has 6 gears, sequential gearbox, on the longer circuits you can reach around 120mph, probably a little more if you fit the aerodynamic bodywork to it

I know it doesn't sound it but they are pretty safe.

Here is a clip of me ending up in a field, this was the first session trying the newly rebuilt kart, i checked and double checked everything, apart from the brake bias... it was set all to the front, i didn't notice it so much on the first couple of laps going really steady, so when i hit the brakes for the first time a bit harder, my fuck up soon hit me and it all went to shit, you'll see it's quite bumpy off line in the braking area and most of you will know what can happen with a heavy front brake bias and you hit a few bumps, the kart i was attempting to overtake was a 250cc kart, but it was just a test day so they run both classes. It was probably my most embarrassing moment in Karting, and i've been doing it since i was 12.

>Money is always a topic for discussion in Formula 1 and so it is worth noting that billionaire’s son Lance Stroll is continuing to build up his credentials to become an F1 driver with a plan to conduct a programme of private F1 tests all over the world, using a 2014 car to avoid political troubles. The word is that he will have 15 days of testing at tracks that he has never visited. This will cost a fortune but will help him be more attractive for teams in the future and help him be competitive if he does get an F1 break

It's not the speed that will hurt you, it's what you hit. I've broken bones doing 10mph and walked away from crashes above 90mph.
