I love Becks, he was the man who single handed got me into football as a lad.
Was absolutely distraught when he fell out with Fergie and moved to Madrid. Gutted. I even bought a Madrid shirt because of it but quickly stopped giving a fuck about them.
But as a footballer he was never all that. He was a pop-start who was famous for being a famous footballer, not famous for being a world class brilliant footballer like Messi, Zidane, Ronaldo, Rooney etc. etc.
You'd be hard pushed to find a better long-range passer or crosser but in terms of everything else he was never all that. He worked hard and gave 100% all the time and could always pick out a pass that wins a game at any time.
Doesn't deserve any shit at all though. He's in the top 10 English players of the past 40 years.
