I played lots of different sports and had to pay membership as a kid for every sport I played. admittedly I never played football, but it was something like 20 quid to become a member covering stuff like insurance, maintenance of the ground and shit.

Nigger for that cost you can only access the house league at the local community center, for a real competitive team you'd have to pay upwards of $300-500 and for the top tier team it's $1,000. I hate soccer culture here, the country is like a vast gathering of Man City fans. It's not like Mexico where you can be the best by playing in the streets with your friends around the neighborhood then walking to the convenience store for some Hot Cheetos and Jarritos to encounter another group of kids to play against. If we had that over pay to play the USNT would be a Mexico 2.0 with scattered immigrants from Eastern Europe, a 6 foot 7" GK who couldn't hack it at basketball and a couple Africans.
