I've kind of always wondered, why don't Tennis players always aim their shot to the opposite side of the court every time to make their opponent run more? Yeah, you may lose a few games and your opponent may get comfortable knowing where your shots are headed but by the 4th set they would be dead tired from chasing all day and may start giving up on games where they have to chase a far shot.

I started playing at 24 and through practice and Youtube vidoes I got pretty good (I mean, good enough to play). I play at 3.5-4.0 level. The hardest thing to learn is a proper serve. But my forehand is pretty good now. You just have to find good instruction videos online and really focus on making changes to your strokes.
It helps if you can video yourself too and see what you're doing wrong.
But what I'm saying is, it's never too late to start playing and get to 3.0-4.0 level, which is the main rec level of tennis.
