Seems like we’ve another cozy stage for today. The ending should be interesting, though.
Eurosport coverage starts at ~14h CET
THIS STAGE IS GOING TO BE AWESOME
>>69263031
does anyone actually still watch this cheatfest unironically?
>Naesen Oliver on the break
Goddamn, I read it as Nélson Oliveira and got excited.
another 6 hours stage with only 20km of real race? kill me please
finale doesn't look very tough - probably a normal bunch sprint.
Livestreams will be available here when the race goes live:
http://www.procyclinglive.com/livestream/#
>>69263119
These are a part of the race. Just one more day, tomorrow we’ll start with the mountains.
>>69263124
final climb is 1km at 8.5%
>>69263144
which one is that? the last km of the race?
>>69263031
3rd to come?
Anyone else just not feeling it this year? just seems like a boring tour
>>69263132
First trully interesting mountain stage is only on Saturday
>>69263170
of all the sprinters cavendish is perhaps the worst climber... will be hard for him today.
>>69263170
God no. The final climb is too difficult for him. Sagan or Matthews are the favourites, but I fancy Cocquard.
>>69263179
The tour has been boring for years now. If you want excitement, watch the Giro or the Vuelta.
Oh the finish isn't remotely hard enough to get rid of Cav, or even Kittel.
>>69263203
>The tour has been boring for years now
That's because of the sky bots. 2011 was the last exciting tour.
2014 would've been good if not for the crashes.
>>69263218
last km 2,5 % i think. perfect for greipel.
climb 11km from finish - 1km at 8%
final climb 8km from finish - 1 km at 5%
that's not getting rid of anyone, except maybe contador
>>69263223
Exactly. As much as I admire Froome's strength (even IF it is drugs or motors), it makes everything so boring. And also his inability to crash, when everyone else does it regularly.
>>69263203
I mean its more than just the riders, Its also the course and the tactics of most of the stages. GC riders just covering each other then trying to breakaway on the last couple of km's.
>>69263218
It's too difficult for Kittel and Cav hasn't done any altitude training, so his climbing will suck.
Here's the last km.
>>69263203
I don’t really watch them because you don’t have all of the best athletes, even if it may be the contrary sometimes.
>>69263254
Froome has crashed in 50% of his last grand tours. He's shit on a bike.
>>69263276
if it rains in the pyrenees, he's done for.
>>69263223
General rankings aside (and, imo, it was still interesting for the 2nd or the 3rd place) we’ve still had some pretty intense stages and action during the last few years.
>tfw this is the finish zone reporter for Danish tv
So qt :3
Contador's shitty bike handling has resulted in two of Froome's crashes

froome can't handle rain
froome can't do cobbles
froome can't do steep climbs
FROOME IS TOO GOOD AND I HATE HIM
>>69263397

>>69263418
froome can't do crosswinds!
>>69263396
I like Cav now that he's the underdog and seems level headed
>>69263423
Quintana is the one looking nervous friend.
putting my wife's son's college fund on kristoff today lads, wish me luck
>>69263418
>froome can't downhill
Not as good as Nibali or Valverde. He's not bad-similar to Andy.
>froome can't handle rain
He can't. Last year he got sick because of the rain. He's too thin.
>froome can't do cobbles
He's never done real cobbles. Last year's cobbles were shit, even Contador kept up.
>froome can't do steep climbs
Who ever said that is a fool. He's good on short steep climbs, not as good as Quintana on the long one though.
>FROOME IS TOO GOOD AND I HATE HIM
I hate Froome because of Sky and the way he races, not because he's too good.
>>69263459
haha its still funny
>>69263467
>I hate Froome because of Sky and the way he races, not because he's too good.
You keep telling your self that spud
>>69263031
Perfect for breakaway. Sagan has no team to catch them, now it all depends whether sprinters have enough desire.
>>69263467
>the way he races
You mean by attacking on climbs?
Might give eurpsport a try today
Can anyone send a link my way?
>>69263490
>You keep telling your self that spud
The sky train is killing the tour. The reason the giro and la vuelta are good is because of weak teams. I have no malice towards Froome, just his riding style.
>>69263261
I don't think that is too hard for the sprinters tbqh.
But I think it will be a nice stage for breakaways.
>>69263520
i really hope they'll start with smaller teams in the future. 6 riders max. less controlled racing, smaller peloton (so hopefully fewer crashes).
Friendly reminder if you support the ban of radio, you are supporting muslim terrorism.
>>69263543
Are you a pussy?
Smaller teams should be better, but there is nothing wrong with the size of the peloton.
>>69263562
>Are you a pussy?
yes, i don't enjoy crashes.
Yeah you never see mountain trains in the giro or vuelta!
the delusion is strong
>>69263543
6 would be great. But also allow an extra wildcard team to bring some extra firepower to the breakaway.
>>69263550
The race radio needs to go. It prevents chaotic racing.
>>69263570
Then tell the GT teams to let the sprinter teams to do their jobs instead of bringing complete baboons on a bike to the front so they stay """"safe"""".
The size of the peloton has never been an issue.
>>69263189
I dont understand this. Sprinters are usually very heavy and that must be the main reason they cant climb, but cav is quite light for a sprinter. Why cant he climb?
>>69263601
tell the sprinters teams not to wait so long to start their leadouts.
>>69263612
short legs.
>>69263612
The muscles most needed for climbing and sprinting are different. Guess which of those he trains the most.
>>69263612
It's type of body, muscle and training he has..
>>69263612
>but cav is quite light for a sprinter. Why cant he climb?
Training. He's focused on the track so hes compromised his climbing ability.
He was a good climber back when he was younger, just not as good as Sagan or griepel.
>tfw 26° and going to chill at the pool and then later watch /tdf/
Supreme
>>69263621
Why would they start lead outs if there are multiple stupid trains up front going at full speed?
>>69263577
it's ok when Tinkoff do it, just not le nasty Sky Winning Men.
>>69263570
>i don't enjoy crashes
are you some kind of fag?
>>69263694
evidently.
Ah the good old days of safe sprint stages, when all we had was headbutts, and bottle throwing, and policemen standing in the road
>old man yells at cloud
>>69263625
he does seem to have short legs compared to his torso yes, not as badly as Caleb Ewan though. Short legged dudes look a bit unfortunate to do any leg based sport but for some reason they do make good sprinters.
>>69263577
>>69263674
Are you guys dense or completely clueless about this sport?
Flat stages should be controlled by sprinter teams (or teams that don't have anyone in the break). This is not something that happens that much anymore because the teams that make the mountain trains also try to control flat stages so they can bring their leaders to the front. This is the main reason for crashes.
When was the last time there was a crash going uphill?
Get it?
>>69263753
>based long-legs
the Sky apologists are in full force already huh? early today
>>69263772
You have gone off on a rant about a different issue, but continue if you feel this will help.
post yfw Sky finally get outdoped by Movistar and le old Colombian
>>69263772
You're talking out your arse, mate.
First, you've confused two entirely different arguments.
Secondly, flat stages are still controlled by sprinters teams; it's bizarre you would suggest otherwise. Have you seen Sky, Movistar, Astana helping to bring back the breaks? No.
The big crash in the sprint the the other day involved only sprinters and leadout men.
>>69263433
>seems level headed
h-heh
>>69263875
They might not control the entire stage but we've seen Sky bring Chris "Can't Steer For Shit" Froome to the front right before sprints to avoid crashing (thereby causing crashes) several times now
>>69263919
Which crashes did he cause?
>>69263031
Yesterday's stage was boring as shit and so far it looks like today won't be any better.
>>69263931

And desu, having heard about what other top riders of the time were up to, not just doping wise but in terms of how they treated teammates etc, Lance was pretty par for the course, if even mild. That's the reality of how it was.

I'll catch back up a bit in the mountain stages though, have a lot of people who can win there. Just spread my chances thin with the sprinters

Yes. Stage one had two, stage two had one.

>>69264294
This is my team. Each day you put up 9 runners, and choose one of your 3 leading men who gets double points.
You also get teampoints, that's for instance why I have guys like Fuglsang, for when I think Nibbles or Aru might do well. And ofc because of budget limitations.
And every placement also matters (ie mountain, sprintpoints, young)
so I have Barguil and Kelderman for white jersey for instance
I was hungover when I picked this though, made some dumb mistakes. Probably should've had Sagan as possible leading man, would've been a safer bet than Kittel. Or I should've just chosen between Vroom and Goatman.
>>69264342
I work a night shift, I'm exhausted when I get home. Last year, I had no problem doing what you said but that was when I had a normal work time.

THE FRENCH WILL NEVER WIN THE TDF AGAIN
>>69266776
I just think it's totally unlikely to find Kittel not handsome
>Coquard ;_;
I have a cuck fetish but even this was too much
Can't Vittel the Kittel
>>69266789
More like
>ride for 5h30m
>leave it for 2m
>>69266794
Yesterday he did the better last 150 meters.
I'm seriously tired by this incredible pile of shit (pic related)
>>69266766
How about you watch the damn stages this time. Since Contadown is out for the count they actually gave him a train. Even this stage, go and watch a rerun or something. Difference is in the second stage the train kept up. This time, it broke way too early.
Why can't they produce top riders anymore?
>>69266858
Mental weakness
I woke up for the pre-show but then passed out till the finish, did I miss anything interesting today?
Any good chateaus?
T-that. That was. That was an an just an amazing sprint that. That was (woooo) an amazing sprint just wow. I mean he went all the way. Just going to push it and go. Go all the way and win that sprint. Just an amazing sprint we just saw (heh) like whoa.
>Cuckedhard
>probably kittel's hair is slowly getting thin
I don't know how to handle seeing him winning without his alpecin bros.
>>69266858
they don't have the technology oxford do
Fucking finally. Jesus.
>>69266858
we don't cheat I guess
Looks like Cockquard wanted to do a Voeckler impression while sprinting. He picked way too big a gear for that gradient, he was really struggling to accelerate.
tomorrow
>>69266852
There was one tinkoff dude in the run up on stage 2 for about 5 seconds. You don't know what you are talking about.
https://streamable.com/r2j3 go watch it yourself you fucking retard
>>69266909
Will we see GC gaps?
>>69266858
>pinot

>>69266909
>plenty of climbs
Better get /comfy/ food ready.
>>69266909
Predictions?
>>69266880
Delete this.
>>69266909
Sagan if it's a bunch sprint.
I think movistar might try something though.
>>69266880
Literally the worst. Why do all American commentators suck?
>>69266909
A L A P H I L L I P E
>>69266858
French team can't into sprint train, the same for Bouhanni and Démare. They must leave Cofidis, FDJ and Direct Energie.
do you lads reckon
>coquard

>pinot

not quite the same for me I'm afraid
>>69266950
Bob Roll isn't bad.
Phil Ligget sucks so hard as does Christian "Mush Mouth" Vande Velde
I hate when races are on NBCsp, I get BEIN and thats the eurosport/GCN guys who are so much better
this interview with Craddock is painful
>>69266967
>Pinot
Will be back soon, don't worry.
>>69266040
In cycling it'squite ok to say the exact opposite.
>>69266885
"technology"
>that sagan hair

>Valverde fighting in vain for every second that he wont be able to defend on the real climbs against Froome ANYWAY
FUCK OFF YOU SPANIOL, STOP RUINING QUINTANA'S PRIME YEARS AND HELP HIM FOR FUCK SAKE
>>69266904
*don't cheat well enough

>>69266909
Valverde
>>69267006
sports medicine is technology of sorts
>>69267026
Quintana's prime is at 30, not 26.
Valverde should help him though.
Fuck Valverde
>>69266911
>for about 5 seconds
Holy shit, get fucked. How about you watch more than the last 20 seconds of a race.
>>69266934
>looks like he might be bretty good in a year or two
thats what they said about Casar, Rolland and Thomas "the meme" Voeckler too
>>69267064
last 20 seconds is what matters though :^)
>>69267030
They can't, The French anti-doping agency is probably the most efficient in the world. It has prerogatives worthy of the gestapo.
>Stuyven talking shit about Voeckler's combativité yesterday
top lel
>>69267097
I don't buy it for even one second tbqh.
Doping is always ahead of anti-doping.
>>69267122
he's right, it was a disgrace
>>69267095
Meant it as he was carried there for more than the 5 seconds that faggot was implying. Problem is the Tinkoff train dies off pretty fast. But that doesn't mean they don't try.
>>69266238
close
For anyone else watching the SBS stuff, the henk and robbie thing with the outside background has to be greenscreen, right?
The lighting looks all wrong.
>>69267135
kek I know
>Fonseca does 130km on his own
>Voecklerlol
>>69267026
>Valverde helping
Lek
>>69267175
He did it on his own at a pace that most amateur cyclists here could basically have kept up, though.
They were half an hour behind estimated points because it was such a snoozy day.
>>69267122
They all hate le tongue man
>>69266752
Those do NOT LOOK like UCI approved spokes.
I'll propose a committee to analyze this question. This committee will then prove several task teams to talk with each federation regarding this matter, they will also try to educate the younger cyclists of the dangers of altered spokes.
In 6 years time, I predict we will have live cameras that can inspect these "specious spokes".
>>69267385
>É Bruno Aleixo
>a falar no rádio
>>69263095
liar
>>69267420
What? How dare you?
Everyone knows that bicycles should not be under 6.8kg weight for "safety reasons"!!
>>69267064
you don't even know what a sprint train is
>from Limoges
maybe I should have put some /TdF/ cardboard just like the other anon
>>69267097
The French Doping turds were partnered with the UCI in covering up positives you turd
