Run up and kick it.

None of that stupid ass little skipping shit.

Quick into the corner, like your mom

do not look at the keeper any time after you are on your run, >Muller lost his penalty today because of that

Litmanen always did a slight "meme" change of pace and as far as I know he didn't miss a single competitive penalty in his career.

Blast it down the middle.
Go for the far bottom corners.
Keep the run up medium length and don't do the stutter step.

Soccer is not a physical game

It's one of mind tricks

If you can angle your foot and approach the ball in such a way that looks like you will shoot it with great authority to one side, the goalie will respond by diving that way.

So all you have to do is tap it down the middle. Super easy.

Power>Accuracy as long as it's on goal.
Buffon guessed right so many times but the shot was too hard and it slipped past him.

Keepers watch your standing foot for direction, so practice planting that straight while putting the ball in either bottom corner.

There's a difference between "high/off the ground" and "top corner"

If you actually put it in the top corner it can't be stopped.

But players who elevate it and put it towards the middle are stopped constantly.

Lewandowski's penalty against Switzerland is an example. And this viewpoint shows why. You put it where he does and it's virtually impossible to stop:

no him, but i still feel like soccer PK's are goalie pressure where as Hockey SO's are more balance to player & Goalie.

Does another 5 yards drastically change the favor to the goalie?
>>
>>69179654
You look at the opposite side of the goal while you're running up to mind fuck the goal keeper.

Then kick it to the other side.
>>
>>69179685
first post best post
>>
if you hit the back of the net, your enemies win
>>
This discussion is really unnecessary, once someone crack the "method" to kick good penalties, goalies will already made up a method to counter it

The real discussion is if players should decide to kick first or last
>>
>>69182097
Zidane would go top corner 99% of the time and no keeper would get close.
The risk is skying it but that's where skill comes in.
Learn to perfect a top corner pen and you'll score 90% of them
>>
>>69182527
The usual score rate is around 85%, so the fear of fucking up in such pressure situations is all on the kicker. The net shrinks, brain shuts down. If you can't manage that, you're done.

This.

The goalkeep has no chance of reaching it if you hit the upper corner, even if he jumps in the exact same direction.

I know this doesn't really have much to do with the thread but anybody know when was the last time a goalkeeper took an importan penalty in a national game?
>>
>>69179654
If in doubt just toe poke it
>>
>>69181044
Can confirm. This match for me had more emotion than the final 2014.
>>
>>69182888

Soccer pens have almost no keeper pressure because it's so stacked against the keeper that no one actually expects them to save it.

Keepers want to do their best and win, but ultimately as long as your teammates keep converting their chances, you can't lose. And any teammates that miss will be blamed.

Look at this match. The winning penalty bounced off Buffon's arm and into the net and no one is blaming him. Everyone is (rightfully) crucifying Zaza and Pellè for fucking up so badly.
>>
>>69182888
>but i still feel like soccer PK's are goalie pressure

They're not at all. Penalties are (in theory) insanely easy to score, if you missed from that distance one-on-one in a game it would be treated as a massive failure. Nobody really expects a goalkeeper to save a penalty unless an English player is kicking it.
>>
>>69182097
I've never seen it happen, can you post a video?

What happens when a player misses the ball during a penality?

shouldn't it be possible if the shooter is obvious where he'll shoot? or would the simply switch if they saw the keeper already going to a direction ?
>>
>>69182527
i think the problem is that the burden is not on the keeper because it's actually pretty easy to score a goal if you don't miss the goal. most penalty shots go in. if you fuck up as shooter, you'll get 100% of the blame, look at zaza that fucktarded retard. shit like that is why you loose games, not the keeper.

This is Lewandowski's PK against Switzerland. He puts the ball in the red circle.

Just look at that keeper, look at where the ball is, and think about the physics of him trying to reach that in one movement.
