Madison "no run support" Bumgarner will try to avoid the 4-game sweep. And yes, he will hit in an AL Park.
OAK: *
2 players are listed as day-to-day:
-- Sean Doolittle (LHP #62) is still sidelined by minor left shoulder soreness.
-- Khris Davis (OF #2) has a bruised left shoulder and was scratched from the starting lineup just before game time last night. He got the injury when he collided with the left-field wall Tuesday night attempting to catch a first-inning double by Brandon Belt.
-- Crisp takes over LF and Burns takes CF.
SF: **
-- And another one goes down ... Ramiro Peña (IF #1) possibly headed to DL with ankle injury after colliding with a Mac Truck in RF.
-- Grant Green (IF #--) called up from Sac RiverCats and will start at 2B.
-- Chris Stratton (RHP #68) optioned to Sac to make room in roster.
-- Because of a short bench, SF has opted NOT to use the DH and let the starting Pitcher hit (first since 1976 CWS Ken Brett).
A's
A bit early for the Jinst to start their post all-star break collapse, isn't it?
>>69106504
-- MadBum will not/cannot participate in this year's Home Run Derby because of concerns from the Players' Union of having only 8 places for position players in that contest and putting (or adding) a pitcher -- or any other option, like the addition of a pitchers' HR derby -- should be evaluated first.
-- As for tonight's game, some As porition players have expressed the opinion that it is disrespectful to bench players for a pitcher to hit for himself.

No, they're not. Glen is above average, but he is far, far, far from elite. Like it or not, the Giants have the better broadcasting team. It's a shame they won't move Fosse to the radio. He has an excellent rapport with Korach that he doesn't have with lesser Kuiper.

Cannnot believe the giants are forced to step foot into that godforsaken smelly facility known as the coliseum. Isn't it obvious they have far higher standards?

The jints tend to do poorly against pitchers they haven't seen before. Fortunately that shit doesn't become a factor when they make it to the playoffs.
Who here has been to games at AT&T and the Coliseum?
I'm not trying to start a shit flinging contest, I've had great experiences at both honestly
>>69108945
Reporting in
>>69108945
Same.
I think AT&T is the better park, the food is good and the fact that it's by the water means most games are pretty much awesome weather wise
But tickets are always expensive as fuck and it's kind of a pain to get to, which is what's nice about the Coliseum
>>69108945
yep
was a few rows behind the backstop at AT&T and right by the right foul ball pole at the coliseum
fucking sun was right in my eyes until halfway through the third
>>69108945
here
only once for a non-giants a's game though
>>69108945
Been to many games at both. AT&T is definitely better, but you can't beat the price at the Coliseum.
>>69108967
>I think the modern park is better than the 60 year old pile of shit that's been housing 2 teams ever since
NO SHIT
I'll always prefer the Coliseum tho, there's really nothing spectacular about AT&T, you can't even properly tailgate desu
>>69108945

(looooooove the triple threat burger)
>>69108945
I watched Timmy pitch his comeback a couple weeks ago, it was nice
Oakland doesn't get the annoying as fuck hecklers too, I swear the last two times I went to AT&T there were dumbass fucking dodgers fans sitting near us heckling
It wasn't even a damn Dodgers game
>>69109047
Saw quite a few at the Bay game last night. They just like to stir shit up.
>>69109091
Yeah I don't know what the fuck is up with that
It's probably my fault for buying cheap seats but I always get stuck by the drunks
Which normally I wouldn't even get all that upset about but they're dodgers fans
>>69109141
Well at least we can all agree on one thing.. fuck the Dodgers.
>/mlb/ right now
sometimes it sucks when it's just baseball on
anybody else go to rivercats games?
>>69109249
>all that shitposting about the rangers and the tribe
This must be what it feels like when the giants and the dodgers fans go at it
>>69109047
If you want a civilized atmosphere follow golf or tennis. Better yet, go to the opera. Baseball is a low class affair.
>>69109271
nah this is worse
literally just one retard rag shitposter and all the new injun fans started this
it's a forced /sp/ rivalry and it's fucking retarded
>>69109283
>tips adjustable cap
>>69109283
>low class affair
There used to be a peanut vendor at att park who used to yell out "SACK OF NUTS. SACK OF NUTS HERE." Had the loudest voice of any vendor too.
>>69109283
You're a) projecting and b) a dumbass. I don't give a shit about heckling in general
What I'm angry about is a bunch of idiots who are fans of a team that's not even playing in the stadium show up and heckle
I'm sick and tired of fatass mexican bitches yelling and screaming about how much they hate the Giants at AT&T park.
>>69109316
Didnt the rangers sweep cleveland this year? What rivalry is that?
>>69109028
>you can't even properly tailgate desu
>tfw my mom's family would tailgate every year at the giants/a's Satuday game at the colisseum before interleague was made all year
astros to the al was a mistake
>>69108945
East bay here. It's Disneyland vs county fair imo.
Disneyland may be expensive but you generally leave thinking it was a great experience that few can compete with regardless of price.
County Fair is easier to get to, loads cheaper, can be easily done with little to no prior planning with friends, and serves essentially the same purpose without claiming to be the "-est" anything
>>69109266
OP reporting in (again)
(gets really hot over there at times ... hotter than San Jose but not as hot as Fresno)
>>69109445
This is an excellent analogy and I am stealing it
>tfw been to modesto nuts games
I need to go to another minor league game, they're pretty fun
>>69109445
I'm trying to find a fault with this because I'm a giants fan who really likes going to the county fair but this is essentially accurate
>>69109524
>tfw lived in modesto all my life and only ever been to 1 nuts game
John Thurman field sucks dicks man
>>69109547
Can't beat our Nuts.
>>69109547
It does suck. Can still be fun though. Baseball is baseball even if you are in fucking Modesto
San Jose Giants games are the shit though. Great BBQ there
>>69109524
I went to an Oneonta tigers game when I was really little on a trip to Cooperstown and it must have been some combination of being a sloppy game and the fact that it was a tigers/Yankees game between 2 affiliates with the same names but my dad said I spent the whole game talking about how much worse they were than the actual tigers/yankees
>>69109525
From an east bay perspective, it is spot on. I always have fun at A's games, but ATT is just a newer park with some great views.
And I'm definitely not a fan of riding a packed muni train to the packed Bart station while not getting to sit until Bayfair or Castro Valley after a giants game.
>>69109679
Yeah it would be nice to find a balance between packed enough for a good atmosphere at the game but not packed enough that you're always in line/bumping shoulders/packed mass transit/traffic etc.
>>69109623
How is cooperstown? I've always wanted to go but find it hard to justify staying long enough to make the trip cost effective when the only thing around is the hof/museum.
Fucking cubans have been hot lately
welp, time for the bullpen to collapse
We're fine
I've been to:
A Frisco Roughrider game (rangers AA)
A san antonio mission game (Padres AA)
A northwest Arkansas Naturals game (KC Royals AA)
An Arkansas Travelers game (La Angels AA)
>>69109743
If it's a day game, a nice walk down the embarcadero leaves some time for the Bart station to clear out a little bit. Definitely adds some time to your gameday adventure though.
>>69109775
It's fun and something you should try. I went once when I was 5 and another time when I was 10. When I was 10 we stayed 5 days and every day I found something new at the hall that I hadn't seen before. If it's anything like it was then they have interactive stuff every day and you can easily spend 3 days without getting repetitive, even longer if you have kids. Downtown cooperstown is pretty neat if you like that small town thing. They have their own field and there's usually some pony/babe Ruth league tournament to just hang out and watch for free. There's a pizza place that's pretty good and I was too young to notice but everywhere has brewerys now so there might be one of those or a cool bar too. If you really need to stretch it out just spend a few days in NYC before or after.
>>69109853
I've been to:
Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (Jints A)
Portland Beavers (Padres AAA)
Las Vegas 51s (LAD/TOR AAA)
A's? More like Ass
What the fuck are those white people doing behind home plate? They know this isn't a Sharks game, right?
>>69109989
They'd still play the Pens better than the Sharks.
Brought my nephews to Little League World Series Games a couple of years ago.
Even I had fun there.
>>69110051
I don't care, anon
I drove past the neighborhood park baseball field one time
10/10 would recommend
>>69109956
Did the single A game attract a crowd or nah?
>>69110051
I don't care, anon
>>69110115
i havent been to a game there since i was like 8 or 9 and i'm 24 now but i remember it being pretty fully considering the stadium seats about 4.2k people. the games were fun and really cheap and there's not much else to do in that area so i'd imagine they're pretty popular.
