Because the NHL,like other professional sports league, is not a static venture. Things change all the time and players get moved abruptly and promptly.
There's always the opportunity for a player to pop up that would be worth some value to us that's equal if not more than Loui is now.
We have plenty of offense as it is, so his 30 goals won't be as deeply needed, and I question whether he'll be able to sustain that offensive production. He seemed to slow down significantly by the time mid-Feb came around last season.
