I was thinking about King James today.

He really saved basketball by beating the memeiors in historic fashion. Instead hearing about how the 3 point shot is the only way to win titles and having a league loaded up with memechuckers, LeBron showed you can win with insane defense and imposing your will in the paint. Instead of an offseason of hearing about the new memeiors revolution, we can talk about the fact that if Kyrie was healthy in 2015 they Cavs probably would've won that title, too.

Thank you LeBron. Thank you for saving basketball.

>>
>>68958717
Lebron showed you can win with the other team not having an All Star in a close out game, losing their starting center and their superstar playing at 70% health. Yes last year Warriors showed the same, that you can win when the other team is decimated.
>>
>>68959127
Just cause Curry sucked in that series doesn't mean he was injured
>>
>>68959127
was curry injured in 2015 as well when he didn't show up and was cucked by delly?
>>
>>68959268
He was cucked a couple times, then quickly put an end to that.

>>68959239
I agree, but the fact is he was injured. He had a bad knee injury not long before, he was not moving as he normally does. Everyone could tell he's hurt. Most thought he might even need surgery.
>>
Good thing theres way more people physically capable of dominating the paint and playing insane defense than people that can heave up the ball between 20 and 25 feet.

Should really grow the sport
>>
>>68959345
Yet there hasn't been a peep about this injury since the Finals ended. 82 games on hardwood is a long season, and I doubt you'll find more than a couple of Finals in league history with all important players 100% healthy
>>
>>68959456
He wasn't hurt like the normal wear and tear. He had a relatively serious knee injury just weeks before and had to sit out two playoff games which is real stuff. After the series was over Steph himself admitted he wasn't 100%. If you are denying he had an injury that had a significant effect on him then I think you're in denial.
>>
>>68959576
>he didn't watch kyrie limping around giving his speech at the parade

everyone is beat up jackass. if he didn't need surgery, he was no more beat up than anyone else
>>
>>68959744
Sorry you're unable to accept reality. I can't help you any further.
>>
>>68959576

not sure it made a huge difference m8. Cavs' number 1 goal was to shut down Curry/Thompson and live with others scoring. also what is the news with surgery? all you GS fans made it sound like he would be getting surgery the day after the finals was over. now it seems like he's not getting any surgery at all?

also it can take weeks to feel completely normal after a concussion, depending on the severity, but no one was making excuses for Love... people just shit on him.

Curry seems pretty injury prone, it will be interesting to see how the rest of his career unfolds since he's 28 now.
>>
he ruined basketball for me. the only thing that compelled me to watch was to see him fail. now there is no story line.

That's exactly why the NBA needed to intervene to make sure the Cavs didn't get BTFO.

When the guy who you hope will be the face of your sport and your next marketing Michael Jordan - the guy Nike has just committed a billion dollars to sign - looks like he's going to choke two straight years to a short guy who's almost white, the shekels start talking.
>>
>>68959767

Curry played like shit regardless. I'm pretty sure his knee didn't cause all those ill-advised passes, including the behind the back out of bounds pass in the 4th quarter of the finals. also why did he choose to go hero ball on that last possession when K Love was guarding him if his knee was so hurt? either he thought he was healthy enough or made a dumb decision. overall dude just played bad, even if he was banged up.
>>
>>68959993

so Curry was in on it too? he decided to throw all those bricks on purpose? that's pretty disappointing for warriors fans considering all he had to do was play average and GSW would have been back2back champs.
>>
>yfw memeiors won
>drayboon would've had an finals mvp
>even worse they might've given it to curry instead

>some 6'3 cappuccino mulatto would've been considered the best player in the league

i wonder if klay and draymond were in on it. i don't think they were, they were trying really hard to hit threes all series

livingston DEFINITELY wasn't in on it

No question GSW played like garbage in the extra games, but don't underestimate how much it fucks with a team - in any sport - when the calls start getting questionable. Sometimes it takes just a single bad call to swing an entire 7-game series (prime example is Don Denkinger's blown call at first base in the 1985 WS, swung the whole series from the Cards to the Royals).

But the other thing is the Warriors' offense depended on having Bogut on the floor, not to score or even rebound, but to make space for Curry. Bogut's #1 job was to protect Curry. Curry playing without Bogut means now the Cavs defense can collapse around Curry, leaving him less time, poorer looks, and generally wrecking his game.

And had Green not been magically suspended so the Cavs had a chance of coming back, then Bogut likely wouldn't have been injured - though it wouldn't have mattered, because GSW would have won G5 and the series would have been over.

Like I said, swinging a series sometimes takes as little as one call.

And now the NBA has the outcome they can market for a decade.

(Again, Curry absolutely could have played better, and chose the worst possible time to go stone cold.)
>>
>>68960031
You know in my first comment the Curry thing was the least of the 3 things. Draymond being out Game 5 and then Bogut out was more of a problem.
>>
>>68960351
>And had Green not been magically suspended...

meh, you lose all credibility here and just come off as a homer. the league was doing everything they could to not suspend him, but you can only get away with so many knees/kicks/swipes to the groin. and when you do it against lebron, it's game over. pretty much had to suspend him.
>>
>>68960768

Daily reminder that lebron went on national television and made some reporter suck his dick for 25 minutes before saying he's leaving his hometown

I laughed so hard when leaveland took him back for max contract. Pathetic
>>
>>68961575
did you laugh when he made steph curry choke on his dick for 3 consecutive games, two of them in his own arena?
>>
>>68959767
Curry wasn't hurt, curry himself said he wasn't hurt. He played like shit in back to back finals. Just face reality that he's overrated trash.
>>
>>68960768
I'm not a fan of either team, I just saw the play for which Green was suspended and it looked to me like James was just as much at fault, perhaps more. And I definitely disagree with the idea of waiting two days to announce the call. Again, I felt the foul was instigated by James, and Green was valid in pushing James off him. If the NBA had screwed up in the OKC series - and I think leaving Green in then was just as manipulative as suspending him against CLE - they don't get to try to make up for it a series later.

Even at the time I thought James might be trying to draw an ejection against Green - and he successfully did, two days later.

Another reason I don't watch basketball (besides the obvious manipulation of games through not only things like Green's suspension but by the way the games are reffed during the games) is I disagree with the idea that some players get better treatment than others. This was nauseatingly true in the Jordan era, and that you can say "when you do it against lebron" means it's just as much in effect today.

I'm a fan of sports that are called consistently and fairly, but basketball - impressive as it is to be able to jump and touch something 10-12 feet in the air, just like it's impressive to hold a 275lb wrestler over one's head before a body slam - is not one of them.

I suspect all the players are aware of this, but when one's choice in life is to end up in prison like the rest of the niggers from the hood or be a millionaire who can keep his mouth shut, it's easy to understand why they make the choice they do.
