Rangers get fewer strikeouts than any pitching staff in the league and they walk guys (11th in the AL). Despite that they're middle of the pack in allowing line drives AND ground balls. I would have expected them to be higher in the ground ball department.
This is probably not as good of a pitching staff as it seems to be. But I think their peripheral stats will get better as the season progresses so I don't think they're in for a total pitching collapse or anything like that. Plus they will get Darvish and AJ back. In the bullpen Kela and perhaps a trade acquisition can stabilize things.

The Rangers are the best American League team in terms of both UZR and DRS by a lot.
This is the biggest reason the pitching staff looks better than it does. They're particularly strong in getting double plays which is a real testament to their defense considering the pitching staff is not that good at inducing ground balls

A solid offense with aggressive hitters generally. There's room for improvement here, and the good news is it can come from within. Choo getting back and staying back should help as well with either the improvement or replacement of one of Moreland/Fielder.

The Rangers are 6th in the AL with 44 stolen bases, but are 2nd in terms of successful stealing base attempts (78.6%). They're 5th in the AL in baserunning overall. The rub is that if you believe BsR there's only five teams in the AL who are any good at running the bases. There's a huge gap between the Rangers and the 6th place team, the Orioles.
