As much as I love "that night" conceding 3 goals in six minutes when they looked to win 7-0 at halftime is definition choking.

Baseball:

Rangers being 1 strike away with a multirun lead...twice.

Football:

18-1.

Basketball:

"It was 3-1."

Golf:

Greg Norman blowing a 6 stroke lead in the 1996 Masters.

Hockey:

'95 Red Wings maybe? Best record in the league and then get swept in the Finals.

Don't get me wrong. It was a choke, but you ate a fucking casual if before that play you thought the game was over and it was a guaranteed victory for Seattle. I was watching the game without any bias, and even at that moment, I didn't doubt the Patriots to do something incredible like force a turnover, or hold them on downs, or drive the length of the field after they scored. Also, it wasn't the biggest choke in super bowl history. See 18-1 or the 1990-1993

Netherlands at every euro/world series footy

recently we decided to choke before a championship and save ourselves the agony.

People might argue that isn't THE championship series for MLB and 2004 ALCS is way worse than that
>>

That pass shouldn't have even been attempted in that situation. They would have been better served running the ball four times in a row.
>>
>>68755212
They had Marshawn Lynch. I hate Seattle but I had pretty much given up any hope of New England stopping them once they got that close to the endzone. Calling that pass play was the pinnacle of stupidity. I don't know if it was Pete Carroll trying to be clever, or Russell Wilson trying to be the hero, but they should have just run the fucking ball. There is no way the Patriots were going to stop Lynch four straight times. If they did it would have gone down as the greatest goal line stand ever.

Nick Anderson missing four free throws in a row was crazy. His free throw shooting fell off a cliff after he did that too.
