They went from a messy defense during the group stage that almost has them lose against Nigeria, to a tighter approach that worked on not having goals scored against them in the 4 KO games, even if that meant that the attack had to be toned down. It's no secret Messi disappeared during the KO rounds because of both a change in the Argentine system, and because his overall level dropped, just like in the last Copa America.
