I disagree with it being less significant. its just integrated well into many BJJ/MMA camps so lots of fighters learn/do it without really calling it "judo".
JBJ is a prime example of this. He makes use of trips/hip throws even though he's not formally trained in Judo. Its just the jackson-winklejon camp has integrated judo sweeps into their MMA so you just end up learning "Judo" throws without actually doing judo
