It's the same size as ECU but located in Charlotte, which means more shit to do, and there is a ton of money going into the University and football program. I personally think it's pretty dumb and the Athletic Department, and school to an extent, is just on a witch hunt with the Music Program. Last year when TAMU played them they said the band can't come at last second after hotels and travel had already been booked/planned. The school says they're reasoning is they don't want fights to happen between fans and opposing bands even though that has never happened ever in college football (It has come close to happening and I've been a part of it, pretty fun 2bh)

Why are so against bands?
The players and team staff enjoy having us. I can tell you fans, especially older alumni that don't get to come to home games often, love having us at away games. We just had $150,000 donated to us from an alumni that had nothing to do with the band when he was in school, but he wants us to look good and sound better. People do care. Visiting bands don't have enough power to outmatch the homefield advantage most of the time. Most visiting bands only bring 3/4ish of the full size anyways.

And that's why college football is so much better than NFL. Fans unite and don't brawl at every game. The atmosphere is so much better.

Marshall fans loved us pre/post game (hated us during it for good reason) and we talked to many of them when walking around their campus. Southern Miss fans liked having us when we went there 2 years ago. Rice fans and band members loved having us and told us to come back next time we play there. I'm sure almost all other schools, except Stanford's, bands have had similar experiences.
