The Rockies seem to be on the right track as far as getting pitchers that can be successful in Coors. They've loaded up their bullpen with hard throwers that can reach triple digits, and it's working. Makes sense too. You get far less movement at altitude, but pitching velocity is pretty much unaffected. Stockpiling big arms seems like a decent strategy.
But yeah, if I was Pint I'd be fucking pissed right now.

A front end college arm will throw somewhere around 80ip during their season and 50+ more for summerball. Pitches stay under 150 ip a year when they're in the minors. The thought process is, they will throw comparable amounts of innings either way but if you draft them out of HS you can control things like pitch counts and pitch selection/use from day 1.

That's untrue about his approach. Rizzo is pretty much a line drive hitter who has a decently level swing. Rarely is he ever trying to swing for the fences or for the streets around the ballpark. His struggle this year is against lefties, which was the opposite last year.
Bryant still has more of a "dinger or bust" approach but he fixed his swing this year so that he actually makes more contact. It's a more level swing that stays in the zone longer, is flatter, and isn't as long. He still strikes out a lot but the improved swing is clearly getting results this year.
