Why is it when """"""""great"""""""" players fail to win the championship all of a sudden winning the championship doesn't matter?
Nobody says that

THE FUCK?

Read sports media the last few days. They are all making excuses for LeBeta
Stats vs. 'Ships is an argument as old as sports itself, why is this just a problem to you now?
>>68160464
Implying
>>68160431
usually if a player gets 2 chips in any sport, its considered enough to solidify them as great, if they have a great career.
Lebron already has 2 chips and a great career, therefore to some people it doesn't matter if he gets more.
>>68161139
peyton manning has 2 and he is regarded as one of the biggest chokers of all time
>>68161139
there are tons of no-name bench players with 2 chips you dip
>>68161139
>it doesn't matter if he gets more
No one would say this if Lebron was 6-0.
>>68161082
That's just pathetic
It's just excuses, LeBron is going to apart of the top two biggest lopsided finals losses in NBA history but the talking heads probably won't even mention that
>>68161139
LeBron had a shot to get 7 and become the literal basketball GOAT, possibly goat of any sport by surpassing MJ. Your argument is therefore invalid
>>68161551
He also put on the best finals performance in history last year over 6 games.
>>68161551
>Anon in charge of reading a box score or even scores
>>68161082
>it doesn't matter as long as you try your best
>>68161731
The last spurs series currently has the biggest point differential, they took one game but it barely made a dent since the spurs spanked them in the last three
>>68161783
Oh yeah, that's right. My bad.
>>68161159
>if they have a great career
>>68160431
Some greats didn't have the teams to win it all. Lebron has no excuse, though
>>68161139
He gets scrutiny for two distinct reasons:
1. He called himself the Chosen One prior to doing anything in the league. Called himself the best of all time (even tattooed it).
2. He took the past of least resistance every chance he could
>hid in the east
>ran to a loaded miami team
>team gets injured, runs back to a team with 3 straight #1 draft picks
I would have no problem with the second, if he hadn't done the first. Because at least at that point, it would be a reasonable assessment to say he is a great top 15 player all time, and that would be his general comparison. Instead, he set the precedent of being the greatest, and as such every bit of scrutiny he gets for not being the best is his own doing

agreed.
>stacked Heat teams
>hand-picked Cavs teams
>still finds ways to blame talent around him

if you are going to be considered top 10, top 5 all-time they definitely matter
