They really need to do shit like Cut the size of the field in half, okay, that won't happen, but have off sides where a player just can't kick the ball out of his zone because it just eats up time where people have to chase it and bring it back, and have stoppage of time instead of extra time which is subjective as fuck.
Also no ties, you do a shoot out, or for the knock out rounds, it's sudden death and you keep playing until someone scores.

Don't stop the clock then
Just take accurate timing of the stopped time and add it at the end. Right now the ref just picks a few minutes but actual testing shows the amount of lost time is like 15 minutes a game. You just need to make sure teams don't get rewarded for slow play and injury faking.
