English isn't standardised
English isn't a phonetic language
Most English words have only 1 syllable
It has random pronunciations, the same letter can have like 5 different sounds
You can't know how to pronounce a word only by reading, you need to hear it

It's a savage and primitive language mate, accept it

English is the most efficient language ever devised in relation to words spoken vs information passed on. AKA, English takes the least effort in relation to greatest amount of information.

French and German are 2nd and 3rd respectively. Got any other weak bait you'd like to share with us?

Nah, the only good thing about English is that most of your words are short, it's easier to rhyme

As someone who learned English as a second language do you ever read it with the idea of certain accents? I always thought it was funny, I assume Brits, Aussies, Kiwis, and South Africans all read English as if their accent was applied, but it seems to me that proper English is most often employed by Americans.

>English "language"
>>
>all these spanish speakers shitting on English

come back to me when you can convey complex emotions with unique vocabulary. The spanish language vocabulary is extremely simplistic and relies, for the most part, on context to define meaning, even in written language. That's when you know you have the language of a barbarian.

>>67816135

Why do we have silent letters in out language?

Perfect example: "knight"
>>
>>67826609

te quiero
lo siento

If you need context or lolwhy? rules to differentiate between love and want, and feeling and regret, it's shit, your language is shit. These are two basssic examples. I watch English language programmes with Spanish subtitles quite often, and it's pretty comical the swings and roundabouts the subtitler needs to go through to convey what is being spoken in English into Spanish.

Still, I learned Spanish to get with the spicy latina's, not to shit on your language, but your bullshit pulled me in tbqhwym8.
>>
>>67826757
because the english language has many different roots and loan words

knight for example comes from the german Knecht

so you'll have to ask one of them
>>
>>67826105
Used to work with a guy in his 60s who was ex RAF who always wanked on about coming over to teach us the Queens English.
Cunt standard greeting was "ey-up"
>>
>>67826794
te quiero is always I love you, it doesn't mean "I want you"

lo siento always means "I'm sorry" and never "I feel it"
>>
>>67826814
eyup is god's english not queen's
>>
>>67826814
>ey-up

confirmed for not Southern AKA best English
>>
>>67826392
That picture is stupid. Pronouncing is all about context and there are rules for it. If ghoti were pronounced correctly it would sound nothing like fish
>>
>>67826832

Lol, I understand the rules, but querer in most (all?) other contexts is 'to want'; sentir, 'to feel'. You haven't refuted my point, that you don't have the breadth of unique vocabulary to convey complex emotion.
>>
>>67816595
Learn to meme
>>
>>67827010
Lo siento literally means "I feel it" but you can read it as "I feel it in my soul", it's a poetic langage

There is a word for "to love" in Spanish and it's "amar", "querer" is a weaker way to love
>>
>>67827085

y tu mama tambien
>>
>>67827144
>and your mammary gland too
you what?
>>
>>67827085

Lel, I know amar, but who says te amo? It's rare. Anyway, like I said, those are two basic examples where the Spanish vocabulary is limited. There are dozens of other multi-meaning verbs, including hacer, tomar, tocar, etc etc etc.
>>
>>67827228
>There are dozens of other multi-meaning verbs, including hacer, tomar, tocar, etc etc etc.
Literally the same happens in English

To do, to take and to play have multiple meanings

All languages have limitations in that sense, we weren't talking about that

I guarantee you can read those words correctly every time. Anyone who can't just has to practice English more.
>>
As someone well versed in actual literature, it's really easy to say that as a poetic language Spanish and Portuguese and French absolutely destroy English. Sure, English is simples and useful, but it's also really poor. It takes a real amount of genius to get a James Joyce or a Pynchon or a Walt Whitman while you can't even count the many writers with masterful prose Argentina or France have. The language sounds way better, phonetically and conveys a much more beautiful prose.
