They have a dumb new rule which dictates how a runner can slide into second base. Its poorly defined and hard to enfore. Basically you cant intentionally change your path break up a double play. But the subjectiveness to determine this leaves alot of grey area and questionable calls leads to at least one side getting upset with the result everytime.

Teams will carry 7 or 8 bullpen pitchers who are called on to pitch in the middle or late in the game. While you are right pitchers are prone to injuries, the bullpen isnt used incase of injuries, its used nearly eberyday (unless the starter throws a complete game)
You have middle relief guys for the 6 and 7 innings(give or take) set up guys in the 8th and closers in the ninth.
Baseball has gotten very strategic in past decade or two and has resulted in very specialized roles where managers may use a guy from the bullpen for a single batter based on matchups.
The best thing you can do is watch a lot of games, both leagues and just listen to the comentators and youll start to pick up buzz words here and there and pretty soon it will make sense. Its not a complicated sport in general but there are lot of specific little things to catch up on
