From a design perspective none of these is particularly excellent conceptually. Mostly just block letters in various executions. The more iconic ones stand out I suppose; Texas, etc.
WSU is like a first year design student's attempt at a high concept logo. You see where they were trying to go but overall it's just a mess.
This one would win easily if they used it
