I can't think of any other QB who got picked #1 overall, busted hard, got injured every year, never had a winning season, never played much less won a playoff game and still jewed ten gorillion shekels from multiple teams. He's even a bigger bust than Manziel. With Manziel people at least realized the meme is over after a year, but Bradford somehow keeps busting over and over again. Trent Richardson of QBs.

that's what the cowboys always do, though. they just contend. they have some potential, but always either fuck it up or get injured (being healthy is the fluke, not the norm) and don't actually win. I mean I guess if you were a titans fan or something you might be thrilled that you're just a contender, but the cowboys shouldn't be bragging about only being contenders.
>>
>>67410493
Same could be said about Packers who are always considered to be superbowl contender before the season and then when they get near or to the playoffs they Peter out and fail. Cowboys will have a year where it all goes their way and they win. And that will happen before 2020
>>
>>67407305

that webm was so cute
>>
>>67410563
I'm not saying that's necessarily wrong, but it doesn't make a great argument because it implies that the cowboys always had a better roster than the packers on paper, which isn't true, or that when the cowboys failed they usually end up doing better than the packers failing, which isn't true either.

to me it feels more like if the packers won it all it would be an "about damn time" moment, whereas if the cowboys did it would be "wait shit, they actually pulled it off??
>>
>>67410653
When you are constantly a contender you have a higher chance of winning a superbowl, stop being stupid. The more often you play in a superbowl the more likely you are to win one.

Buffalo is the only exception to this rule.

Cowboys are going to be the next football Dynasty in the /nfl/ after Brady retires in 2018
>>
>>67410694
>When you are constantly a contender you have a higher chance of winning a superbowl, stop being stupid. The more often you play in a superbowl the more likely you are to win one.
yeah, I agree with that. I'm just saying that as far as contenders go, the packers have been clearly and undeniably above you for a while now. they're actual contenders, while you guys are "shoulda coulda woulda been contenders if we stopped fucking it up"

>>
>>67410906
well okay buddy, if you feel that strongly about it then have fun with that. at least you're not so delusional that you're doctoring the past, like some cowboys fans, you just have blind hope for the future. I don't necessarily hate that, but seeing as it's the cowboys you can go suck a fat one.
>>
>>67410969
How do cowboy fans doctor the past?

This team is setting up to be one of the 4 dominant teams in the NFC and Ezekiel Elliot helped solidify that. This Cowboys offense is going to be marching down the field on niggas for years to come and their defense is above average enough to ensure winning games.

>>
>>67411020

well not you in particular apparently, but I've often heard shit like "the 20XX season should have an asterisk on it, the cowboys clearly deserved it more than anyone else. if not for [insert excuse here] we would've walked right over everyone else and gone 19-0". yeah, when you see things like that on /sp/ it might seem like ironic shitposting, but I've had more than enough real life experiences with cowboys fans who legitimately think like that.

it's like the opposite case of sour grapes, where instead of saying that they weren't that good anyways they say that they were so good that the lombardi should belong to them anyways, the only reason they didn't get it is because they failed to.

However you cannot deny the progress of the Cowboys, their change in drafting philosophy, the change in FA acquisition, and their change in team Identity. This Cowboys team is building towards a successful franchise again, and any reasonable person can see that
>>
>>67411124
that's the thing though, if something almost always goes down every season in a way that the season is shot, you can't really call yourself a consistently strong team. that's like saying that one kind of expensive aircraft is the best because if it works then it'd be awesome, but in reality on every flight one of the primary systems fails and it crashes. that's not awesome at all, and not worth being considered among the best.

again, I'm saying that it happens a lot in the real world too, the /sp/ posting could very well be just memes (and almost certainly is) but it reflects what those fans do pretty well, which is why I find it appropriately amusing.

besides, I've been here being gullible on /sp/ for more than half of its existence by now, so if there's anything that can make me leave for good (doubt it) that isn't it.
>>
>>67411288
how coincidental, 88 get and the cowboys 2016 record all in one post
>>
>>67411270
They aren't there yet to consistently good. But there is no denying if cowboys were a healthy team on both sides of the ball last year they would have ran away with that division and we would all be talking something different right now. Yeah this is a "what if" scenario but you can count a team to being shit and not good because of a heavily injured year.

That's why you need to look at teams objectively

What is your opinion on this Cowboys team taking out the injury equation which should be taken out when predicting teams anyway
>>
>>67411375
8-8 Cowboys team. A team that will have 6 more wins than the Ravens.
>>
>>67411410
>But there is no denying if cowboys were a healthy team on both sides of the ball last year

jesus you cowshits get more delusional every year.
every team in the league has injuries every single year. if your team can't overcome injuries then you're a shit-tier team.
>>
>>67411410
>Yeah this is a "what if" scenario but you can count a team to being shit and not good because of a heavily injured year.
true, in most cases you'd be right by that logic. if a team has a flukey bad year, that doesn't mean you should consider them to repeat it the following season, since they could still look good on paper. however, in the specific case of the cowboys recent history, everything working as designed is the fluke and everything falling to pieces is the norm rather than the other way around. it's a bit harsh sure, but it's to be expected that people will see the cowboys that way when that's what they usually show us.

but yeah on pure talent I'd say they should at the very least play in the divisional round, maybe better if the chips fall their way. however, this guy >>67411501 has a valid and very good point. if you can't make do with what you have, or put together a good contingency plan on the fly, then you're not really the best. just like the draft is "an exercise in risk management", building a roster that can perform well despite injuries while still staying under the cap is "an exercise in preparation and adaptability". you gotta be able to do that too if you want it all.
>>
>>67411532
Well you go on and keep living in the past and ignoring the inevitable that the Cowboys are looking like a top team in the NFC for a considerable length of time.

>>67411501
Yes injuries happen but injuries rarely happen on a magnitude of what happened to the Cowboys, and you are the delusional one if you are still hiding behind that excuse. The amount of injury that happened to the Cowboys in key positions was a fluke. And stop going into 2016 with the reply "doesn't matter ____ is getting hurt" that is a complete dodge of an argument.

>>67411552
Oh what a coincidence 52

The same number of interceptions Flacco is going to throw in the Regular season.

Oh hey the last number ends with 2 just like the amount of wins the Ravens will get.

>Well you go on and keep living in the past and ignoring the inevitable that the Cowboys are looking like a top team in the NFC for a considerable length of time.
the main reason that people judge you the way I was saying is because that's your recent history. if you want to be seen differently, show us something different and buck that trend, then keep it going long enough to establish a new trend. if and when that happens then you can complain that it's not a fair assessment, but until then that's what's going to happen.

It actually takes a few years to make a competitive team. It took Pete Carroll 3 years. Cowboys had a change in draft philosophy only recently. It was only recently that they got smart in the front office. It was only recently Stephen Jones started making deals, putting the right coaches in and making the right moves.

This "Norm" you think of the Cowboys is you living in the past thinking "oh it's the same Jerry Jones, the same 2000s Cowboys"

This cowboy team is going to be scary, and it's going to be constantly the center of talks everywhere with the topic "who has the best chance at winning a superbowl"

>>
>>67411795
What's "recent" is a Cowboys team that shows it's a dominant team when it hasn't been hit with an injury bug.

What's "recent" is Cowboys stocking up on players and depth

What's "recent" is Cowboys dominating in the draft every year

What's "recent" is Cowboys having arguably one of the best offenses in the NFL (on paper)
>>
>>67412024
Ezekiel wasn't a reach either and anyone who thinks so doesn't watch college football
>>
>>67411940
>It actually takes a few years to make a competitive team.
yeah, that's what I'm saying. it wasn't because of jerry jones or anyone else. the reason you could get better could come from several different places, having a better front office is just one of them. it doesn't matter what the speculative reason would be though. until you can capitalize on your potential on a consistent basis, and only until then, can you shake off the "unfair" judgmental remarks about your team's ability. if you can make that happen, then at that time you can rightfully complain that the treatment is unfair. as of right now though, you haven't proved that you can execute on an elite level, so you're not elite and nobody should really expect you to be. you can hope all you want, but it's still just speculation.

these are another guy's stats that I don't think will be a HOFer, so no.
>>
>>67412118
he's in, if nothing else hes in because he got the Seahawks a chip and should have got them 2 if Pete Carroll would have called the right plays instead of trying to make Wilson look like the hero/mvp.
>>
>>67412063
No. What's "recent" is a team that finds a way to be mediocre. One good season does not change this, and one bad season doesn't, either. Injuries are not some crazy Hallie's Comet-like occurance in the NFL, they are the norm. If your team is poorly equipped to deal with injuries, their record will show that. In case you forgot, the current super bowl champions were missing their QB for a portion of the season. Didn't stop them from winning it all.
There are no excuses, the Cowboys are a mediocre team in an absolute trash heap of a division. That's what they've been for the past decade or so. If something changes, then you can talk about it.
>>
>>67412235
Why the fuck do coaches do that? Harbaugh threw away an owl by throwing it 4 times on the goal line to try and make Crappershit a superstar, then Carroll did the exact same thing. It doesn't even benefit them to do it, they'll just end up having to pay a mediocre QB a ridiculous salary next contract.
>>
>>67411883
>ravens will go 10-6 or better

Top kek this delusion. Ravens won't win a single game in their division unless the teams name is Browns
>>
>>67412265
this guy gets it, and said it better (and shorter) too.
>>
>>67412095
Cowboys will be capitalizing on that very soon. And any reasonable person can see they have pieces to do it.

Cowboys and 49ers are on opposite sides of a spectrum right now

Cowboys are on the rise, with young players dominating their positions, a front office that now knows what it is doing, and a coaching staff where the HC doesn't have to be a OC or DC also.

Meanwhile the 49ers are a dumpster fire. Probably won't get out of it for another half decade or more

>>67412121
>>67412265
What exactly do you consider recent? Because if you are still attributing what happened to this Cowboys team before 2013 as recent then you are straight up living in the past.

Also the current superbowl champions didn't have their Star WR, their Star CB injured or their Star DT injured. Broncos had a QB that wasn't good injured for half the season does not come CLOSE to what happened to the Cowboys and you are delusional for comparing the two
>>
>>67412335
>>67412265
not even a cowfag but the Broncucks didn't have nearly the amount of injuries the Cowboys did. Their only legitimate injury was to Peyton for half the year and he wasn't even playing good to begin with. Their defense was for the most part healthy, and it's what won them the superbowl
>>
>>67412337
you're almost certainly right about my team, it doesn't make any criticisms of your team inherently untrue though just because someone who has a sucky team says them.

you could very well be on the rise, you could have solid and and justifiable evidence to support that, and you could be proven right very soon. that's not the point though. until that happens, you're still going to be stuck with your current labels. in order to shake the trend you gotta break the trend.

even if it does happen though, it wouldn't mean that the current assessment becomes wrong in hindsight. it just means that starting then, you don't deserve those labels anymore.
>>
>>67412418
Demarcus Ware missed like 4 games. Also, both starting safeties were out during the 4th quarter of the AFCCG, which almost cost them the owl. Either way, I wasn't saying the Broncos were an injury ravaged team, I was saying that injuries always happen. Always. Every season. Blaming a bad year on injuries in stupid enough, but blaming a decade of mediocrity on them is straight up retarded.
And no shit Denver's defense won them the owl. That's the point I was making. Denver's QB was out for a while and never really 100% until the playoffs. Did it stop them? No. Because their team was good enough to win.
Paraphrasing that Facebook movie: if the Cowboys were a winning football team, they'd be a winning football team. It's that simple.
>>
so whats bradys record now that all his SB wins are null and void?

Broncos weren't nearly as injured as the Cowboys. If Miller was out for a year, Thomas was injured all year and out for half of it then they wouldn't have even made it to the playoffs.

The fact that the Broncos werent an injury riddled team like the Cowboys is the reason why they won a superbowl

What the fuck point are you even trying to make? Are you really saying the only reason the Broncos won the Owl is because they weren't littered with injuries? There's more factors than that. I am saying the lack of key injuries certainly was a factor for the Broncos winning the Superbowl. And the abundant amount of injuries on the Cowboys was certainly a factor I fact it was the defining factor as to why they did so poorly.

Anyone that can see things objectively, reasonably and without bias would also come to the same conclusion

Holy shit, you might actually be retarded. Like legitimately learning impaired. I specifically said I wasn't saying the Broncos were injury plagued. Just that everyone has injuries, and the good teams are good enough to win, and the bad teams are bad enough to lose. This is the simplest fucking concept there is.
Good teams win.
Bad teams lose.
If the Cowboys were good enough to win, they would've won. If the Broncos weren't good enough to win, they would have lost.

This is true.

I say this because my own team (colts) is somewhat similar. Hasselbeck was much better than expected but for the three seasons before that the game plan was for luck to throw 50 times to Hilton and Wayne (when he was still playing), while on the defensive side the game plan was for vontae and Mathis to do everything by themselves.

When those guys didn't play at an elite level, it showed. Badly.

Go look at the Broncos team that lost in Super Bowl 48. Their defense was fucking obliterated with injuries, yet you never saw anyone using that as an excuse for getting assblasted by the Seacucks. Getting as far as they did without Von Miller, Chris Harris, Derek Wolfe, Champ Bailey, Rahim Moore, Kevin Vickerson, Ryan Clady was impressive as fuck.

For the millionth time, injuries happen, it's part of the game. Good teams (like the Broncos and Patriots) are able to get through them with depth. Shitty teams like the Cowboys choose to use it as an excuse to roll over and die.

>bragging about your pass rush to the fans with the bet pass rush in recent history
>bragging to super bowl champions at all
Lel. Your mediocre team got near being able to contend for a wild card spot for a week or two last year and now you think they're good. That's adorable.

Aaron Rodgers had a higher TD% and lower INT% his first 4 seasons as a starter as well as having a higher TD% than Warner
he also attempted an average of 34 passes per game his first 4 year as a starter to Wilsons 27

Injuries to the Pats were more significant for the Broncos' win than injuries for any other team.

Over-reliance on deep threats cost us an Owl; one good tight end and a willingness to get the ball out on quick dink and dunk could have won >us the Owl in 2007. Take the small gains, take long drives, be patient, win.

Lel. Brady did nothing all game but throw picks. The only time they moved the ball was the 4th quarter against 2 backup safeties. That's why they lost the game, Brady choked like a bitch under pressure

B-but he didn't start as a rookie...

Bullshit faggot, that missed extra point cost the Pats the game.

Which team that missed the playoffs last year has the best chance to win the Super Bowl this year?

Spoiler: It's not the Cowboys.
