I'm not sure, but in qualifying we played really defensively and did ok (same with Euros). Then before the WC Greg Dyke started going 'if England are going to win we need to play attacking football' etc - and Woy's tactics changed. I think the orders came from above him to change the style of football, which turned out to be a disaster. Especially as Woy has only really ever been successful by making teams hard to beat. So I think the FA couldn't sack him because they were the ones who told him to play differently.

Jorginho is a world class player. saw him playing live vs Palermo, he didn't lose a ball, e have good technique and he cover the whole midfield. The only way he could'nt be a starter were if there was Verratti and Marchisio, but this is not the case.
Chiellini left back is actually good because Florenzi as a right back can morph into a winger when attacking; in this case defense would be the 3 of Juve which is not bad.
Bonaventura is actually really good. Parolo is not bad but this year played like shit. Marchisio and Verratti are world class player and their absence will be devastating.
the attack is a big question mark: we have three excellent wingers (Candreva Insigne ElSharaawy) maybe a fourth (Bernardeschi) or two number10s (Giovinco or Franco GOAT Vazquez). Hte problem are the centreforward: Zaza and Pellè are not bad but they are not champions.
I think the best italian striker right now is Torino's Andrea Belotti. He is in excellent physical shape and he would be the new Totò Schillaci if only Conte wasn't a shitter and won't call him
