The reason it's Rizzo is because his presence alone on the diamond brings something to the team that cant be quantified with any standard or advanced metrics. It's starting atleast 160 games and never once giving it less than the full effort. Its the motivation he brings to the players around him. Its the fact that he can make a club as good as it can be and still be a humble likeable character on and off the field. If you wana get into the numbers we can talk about how hes hit the most hr in the nl since 2013 or that he has consistantly increased his overall performance since he became a starter for a team that was once awful. He is the kind of guy you build a playoff team around as has been proven and he plays the sport with the right attitude.

It would be an interesting trade. Short term the dodgers would benefit significantly. Prospects are very volatile no matter where they're drafted or projected to be. Personally, I think trading a couple high end prospects and an every day player for one of the best players in the game is worth it. He's locked up until 2021 and it's not like the dodgers don't have the payroll to do it.
