I'm argie Boca fan and Boca vs. River has been shit for at least 10 years. Not only the quality of players has dropped significantly, but it also has been whored to death (at least 5 superclasicos every year - 2 official and 3 extra official, plus the eventual international matches plus the random friendlies that happen from time to time) and the players just lose interest in playing because of all the artificial tension and shit surrounding the match. People also loses interest easily when it's not an official match.
Shit got ridiculous. They have played friendlies in Mexico just because. They also rejected playing a friendly in Bolivia because players simply refused to play. They've got to play a bitter washed out match in a key part of the season for both just because the bank that sponsors then paid for it.
It's so overdone, overhyped and so not up the expectations that it became meaningless for anyone that is not a die-hard fan.
