Hey pats bros
So how do we do this?

There has to be a change because let's be honest we might as well start wearing paper bags over our heads like the bungles

How though? Change has to come from top down. Get rid of Brady obvs
Get rid of belicheat? Damn the f-I got owner is involved with this.

How can this organization get shaken up to the point that the CULTURE changes? Be honest, there are no lessons learned here. This group will just look for a new, more inventive way to cheat and maybe next time when they get caught the whole team gets moved or even just disbanded.

Some tough choices ahead, and I don't see this current group making the right ones. As roger rightly pointed out with this recent spankng...

Agreed. Literally the lamest scandal in all of sports. If it was any other team I'd say fuck Goodell, but since it hosed the Pats and confirmed they were cheaters all along I don't really care. The punishment was extraordinarily harsh though, both the docked pick and the suspension.
>>
>>67141076
Tbh the pick and suspension is just goodell trying his absolute hardest to make the pats not win the division
>>
>>67141258
then he should move the pats to one that doesnt have garbage teams like the dolphins and bills

I guarantee Goodell doesn't give one singular fuck about whether or not the Pats win or lose football games. It's more the Pats making him look like a lame duck commissioner, particularly after the whole domestic abuse stuff he had to deal with that year.

No. Robinson, Ragland, and Reed are very likely first rounders but Henry will probably be an early day 2 pick.

No. Tunsil and Treadwell yes, but I guarantee Nkemdiche is going to tumble down the draft. Wouldn't be surprised to see him fall to the 3rd or even lower.
>Jalen Ramsey - Dallas Cowboys 1st Pick ? Y/N
I think he might not be available at 4, either because the Chargers took him or another team traded ahead of the Cowboys, so no.

Nope. It'll be Treadwell. Memespeed is a second rounder.

The right move for a better team maybe. You can't say it's a good move to trade a first and a second/conditional first for an older bench guy midseason just because you're above .500 for the first time in years, your qb is hurt, and gm is dead. Acquiring palmer is a move for a team thats a qb away, not a team that can't win its final game to get into the postseason.

It was a fun year, hue was doing well until campbell got hurt but that trade set the raiders back a couple of years, the last thing they needed
>>
>>67142144
>Second best tackle in the draft
>Arguably the best DE in the draft
>QB with great measurables and actual performance at a high level in the 4th round
>Any of those bad picks

Tunsil is obviously the safer pick at 8 and if he's there he's the obvious pick but there's a reason scouts have Stanley and Tunsil as pretty much 1a and 1b. Taking Stanley there gives the Browns the best pass blocker in the draft while replacing Schwartz and also having a contingency plan for Joe Thomas. Nkemdiche has comparable talent to Bosa and similar red flags, he's well worth the risk especially when you consider the 2nd round is literally a 50/50 shot when it comes to producing a starter. Hackenberg is the riskiest pick of those three because of his accuracy issues but when you take into account his freshman year success in a pro style offense and his measurables he's a relatively low risk/high reward pick in the 4th round

Stop this

Nkemdiche is guaranteed to be a bust. Undisciplined on and off the field. I have to think that the only possible reason anybody could consider him a 1st or even 2nd round candidate is that they only watched his highlights, because in almost every single Nkemdiche game I've watched, not only was he not a difference-maker, he was a flat-out liability. No awareness, no gap discipline, no plan of action when rushing the passer, and he gets turned completely around more often than he pressures the QB. Aside for those few-and-far-between flashes that remind you of why he was once a blue chip recruit, he's absolute trash.

That's before you get into what a locker room cancer he is. If you really want him on your team, you've gotta be a fucking retard.

His Florida tape is great, his Auburn tape is great, his Alabama tape is good too. The biggest knock on him is that his stats don't really jump off the sheet but if you watch the game film you'd see why. As to the locker room cancer bit, there's not really many reports of that other than that he's too honest and open. Now I'll give you that in games where Ole Miss is out of the running for the NC you see a drop off in his play but if you give him production incentives in his contract I'd bet you could get him to be focused and determined through all 16

Guard for depth and to replace Grecco who leaves in 2018. Listenbee would be a 2nd or 3rd round pick if he wasn't overshadowed by Doctson. The guy has mad hands for a dude who's a speed demon. Durate is a TE tweener, pretty much for matchups in the redzone and on third down. Russell has elite size but not great production, he's a roll of the dice but in the 7th round there's no risk there I can think of. Next year would be the year where the Browns grab a top flight WR for me, this year is deep on defense and O-Line so why not stock up on it while we can? Also, if Doctson is there at 32 I'd want the Browns to take him, I just don't see him being there, sadly
>>

Generally speaking, its the basic approach because teams are under financials constraints, like the salary cap. Its far more inexpensive to draft a player and maintain his rights for 3/4 years at a reasonable salary than it is to sign free agents.

This is exactly the reason why most teams generally draft best player available and fill whatever holes they need through FA.

>This is exactly the reason why most teams generally draft best player available and fill whatever holes they need through FA.

Also due to the fact that needs at the time of the draft aren't the same needs later in the season.
>>
>>67143090
the only downside to this strategy is that you have to have an excellent scouting department. (see panthers, carolina)
>>
>>67143081
he wasn't that bad of a QB in college or in the NFL, he just got dealt a shit hand of luck
he was great at aOSU, but got fucked up in a scandal and fell to the supplemental draft
then he was unlucky enough to go to the raiders, where he was alright when he actually started, but had no talent around him and eventually injured his MCL

>>67143121
its a general strategy because of cap space. Teams will run their draft either loosely or tightly to this strategy depending on how strongly they feel about certain players or the personality of the owner. Al Davis and Jerry Jones rarely ever subscribe to this type of strategy because the like sexy and flashy players, not thinking of long term consequences. Teams like Pats and KC dont go flashy and always go maximum value on the draft board and even in FA. They get the most out of paying the least.

I don't see the Browns drafting Bosa.
If they did, he'd have to be an OLB and put on 30 pounds, or completely change the defensive scheme.
Him and Elliot are good trade bait though, I wouldn't be surprised to see them trade with Miami and pick up Treadwell at 13 because I don't think Zeke is going to fall that far. Could be picked up by the Ravens, realistically.

honestly i don't love the bosa pick, but 8 is a weird place to pick because of the QB run in the top 2
the top 3 consensus non-QBs will be gone by then, and they don't need stanley or conklin, so it pretty much has to be an edge rusher or elliott
bosa isn't an ideal fit in their scheme, but he's an incredible talent, and i feel like a competent defensive coordinator could make great use of him no matter the circumstances
best case scenario for them is that buckner falls to them though
>>
>>67144127

I'd see them grabbing Buckner, Bosa, or Elliot if they were available at 8. If he's cleared by the med staff, Mack too, but his knee scares the fuck out of me.
I'm expecting them to trade down to the teens because as you said, 8 is a weird spot and they need WRs.

>>
>>67144133
>he's an incredible talent
Come on

I don't dislike Bosa, but I see him as a high-level complementary piece. He's strong as an ox, but hardly a flexible athlete and doesn't move well in space. On the rare occasions I've seen him in coverage, he's practically tripping over his feet when changing direction, and at 275 lbs., he's almost 40 lbs. lighter than the average NFL 3-4 DE. Plus in the AFC North, guys like David DeCastro, Marshal Yanda, and Kevin Zeitler would have Bosa on skates all day long. You watch Bosa's tape, and it's basically play after play of Bosa stonewalling the run and pushing the sled on his way to the QB, which he does with great success because he's way too fucking strong for most college linemen to handle. That's his bread and butter, but that advantage will be mitigated at the next level, where he'll no longer be the biggest kid on the playground. He's a strong, functional(not elite) athlete with heavy hands and a polished array of moves, so I think that he'll continue to find success rushing the passer in the NFL, but he'll never put up Watt/Mack-type sack numbers.

Actually the more I think about it, the more I believe Bosa's best fit is in Jacksonville at the LEO spot. I know people assume that's Dante Fowler's spot but that's a waste of Fowler's athleticism and versatility to me, and he should probably be the OTTO with Bosa complementing him at the LEO spot, where he can either stop the run, or pin 'em back and run to the QB, which is what Bosa was born to do.

Is that what you call running directly into unengaged blockers and intentionally taking yourself out of plays? Check out every play where he makes a tackle, it's almost always when they run the ball directly at him. On the rare occasions he gets into the backfield, he fails to finish. He's not making anything happen, he's a complete non-factor, and on some plays he doesn't even engage with a blocker, like at 4:14 or 5:06.

If he can't beat guys consistently in college, how can we expect him to in the pros when the linemen are bigger and stronger?

Also all I said was "didn't Rowe get destroyed by everyone he tried to cover last year" so I don't get why you are getting so ass blasted
>>
>>67144770
So you're using one game against one of the greatest receivers to play the game to judge a rookie?

Do you think about shit before you post it or do you enjoy the attention being a moron brings you?
>>
Guys, I recently joined a football league. It's offseason, so they only play flag to avoid injuries, but I'm literally dominating at WR. I haven't met a DB who I couldn't burn, and I haven't dropped anything thrown my way yet. Perhaps this is the position I was meant to play.

Right now I'm
6'4
170 and gaining, and if all continues as planned I will be 200-220 about a year from now when I start college. I haven't ran a 40 yet, and I don't know exactly how fast I am, but I can get my forearm halfway above the rim, and I figure that will increase with more weights. Could I theoretically walk onto a college football team at that weight if I continue to play? Don't worry, if I do make it, I won't stop shitposting on /nfl/

>4:14 he's got edge contain on an option play
The point is his lack of awareness took him out of the play when the play was his to be made. This isn't just a one-off incident, this is his whole college career. Same with the play at 5:06. He got fooled. He takes himself out of the play because he processes what's happening in the play far too slowly and abandons his responsibility on the play to chase after it. This is what I'm talking about with lack of awareness and discipline. He doesn't have an ounce of it.
>>
>>67144861
This is kind of what I figure, but many americans play here too, even some black guys surprisingly.

Neal, Hargreaves, and Bullard are all first round talent. Would be very happy if the Falcons drafted either Neal or Bullard, even in the 1st.

I'm a little concerned about Hargreaves. He's got great instincts and playmaking ability but he's so damn small. I feel like NFL receivers would manhandle him.

Bullard is great though, legit one of the most underrated players in this draft.

>I'm a little concerned about Hargreaves. He's got great instincts and playmaking ability but he's so damn small. I feel like NFL receivers would manhandle him.

Size is really only going to matter for him if some retard team sticks him in a press man scheme. He's physical as a corner either way. I feel like size at corner only really matters in press scheme. Besides, size doesn't make a physical corner; there are lots of big, wimpy corners out there.

I think Hargreaves compares to Brandon Flowers. Should be a good corner.

Uh I bet has more receiving yards and receiving touchdowns than all of your receivers combined.
>>
>>67147276
That's why it's franchise-defining. They blew up the old franchise, now they can either build a mighty skyscraper or a shitty shack in its place, and it will be decided during these three upcoming days.
>literally picked shit the last 5 years
I know, but now >we finally have people who look like they totally know what they are doing. And the 2015 draft wasn't actually that bad: Nate orchar showed flashes of brilliance last year, Duke Johnson is a good receiving back, Shelton is very enthusiastic and haas been improving during last year already, Erving was just out of shape and tossed around the offensive line last season, he has improved his physical condition and it's almost certain taht he will be playing center in 2016. Future is finally looking kinda bright, but ONLY if this draft won't be JUSTed.
>>
>>67147236
yeah because stuffing a drafted qb right in as a starter is a good move right?
bradford is literally only there for him to sit behind and learn and develop well
the eagles are thinking long term and know bradford is simply a means to an end
just there to take snaps and sacks untill the drafted qb is ready
>>
>>67144759

The best SS is going to be Jatavis Brown. Too small for LB, he's got the speed to cover space as a robber like chancellor. Book it.

i know its your team and you have to have hope but neither of the top two qbs will ever be as good as bradford even as shitty as he is.

the eagles have destroyed their franchise again.
it must suck when the fucking r******s are better than your team.
on the plus side, the eagles will probably have a top 3 pick next year.
>>
>>67147613
It's all scheme dependent, but I don't think Jatavis Brown would play anything other than Will in the NFL.

IMO the best SS prospects of the draft are Keanu Neal and Miles Killebrew. Maybe that's just for the cover 3 scheme because that's the glasses I've been looking through since that's what the Falcons play, but they're both going to be great players.
