I can't see women breaking into any of the major leagues but what if someone proposed a co-ed league where each team had to field a certain number of men and women? I think that would be an interesting concept in itself. Right now co-ed sports are thought of as not-competitive, a good way to get some exercise in and maybe fuck one of your teammates if you're named Chad. It would be interesting if it would become more professional.

Well yes, mandatory quotas would have to be in place so for example you'd have a team of 6 men + 5 women playing soccer but for example you'd have at least 1 man and 1 woman in midfield and same in defense. In football you can have the same thing, where lets say you'd have to have at least 1 WR of each gender.
I doubt the level of play would reach that of professional mens leagues but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find semi-amatuers.

I watch the co-ed softball games before my own game starts.
Lineups are mandatory guy/girl/guy/girl/etc. No stacking the guys in a row to max efficiency.
The girls are put in the positions where the ball is hit the least, (RF/RC/C//1B)
They already know their position as filler.
Some of them can hit decent shots past the infield, but I've never seen a girl hit a homerun in 10+yrs.

The only "big" sport I can see it feasibly happening is golf. Annika Sorenstam and Michelle Wie have almost made cuts in a PGA Tour event.
Could they win? Highly doubt it. But I could definitely see an elite long-hitting female golfer gaining a PGA Tour card if she happened to have her good weeks at the same time as sponsor's exemptions.
