>putting the world's best winger at hooker
>>
Serious question lads

Why does the hooker have to throw the lineout? Surely being in the front row and being a thrower are totally seperate skills and anyone could do it. A long time ago it was only locks would jump and props would lift but that's been thrown out as the back row jump just as much if not more often than the locks. Why can't a flanker throw the lineouts if he's more accurate than the designated hooker?

What I'm saying is that they could totally just play Coles on the wing and have him throw the lineouts as well.
>>
>>66809627
He doesn't? It's just easier by convention to have one position where you are teaching that skill set to them.

When I was in junior rugby I threw lineouts for a season even though I played second row because our hooker was absolute gash.
>>
>>66809627
I guess because you'd be losing a back when its one of the best times for them to strut their stuff
>>
>>66809627
Hookers are usually the shortest forwards
>>
>>66809627
They don't have to. When the hooker has been sinbinned you'll see other players do it (Aaron Smith has thrown it in for the ABs for example).
>>
>>66808553
Memekenzie was ruthlessly exposed defensively against the Boos last weekend, that's why Husbendo should stay in FB. Smug's attacking skills, however, are possibly the best in the country and I think it's worth a shot trying him out on the wing against Wales, just to see if it works.

Why are so many people on fb shilling for Dagg at fb, he was mediocre before he was injured and he's been out for ages. You have Ben Smith who you know is great and Damien "most exciting player in the world right now" McKenzie who are both ahead of him imo.

Also cruden to start, he's brilliant at the moment. Is Lowe an outside chance for the squad if he keeps his form up.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ben Smith at centre and McKenzie at full back, hell thats what I would do

>>
>>66812009

>>
>>66811945
He's at least as good as NMS. Savea is a pretty bad defender despite his size
>>
>>66811845
You're a fucking idiot.
Ben Smith is the best fullback in the world. So, he stays at fullback.
Mckenzie is questionable on defence and spends too much time up in the line.
The 2007 WC quarterfinal was the last time an All Black coach put their best fullback in the centres.
Centre pairing will he Feki/Ngatai or Crotty/Feki, injury dependent.
Naholo will be at 14, the coaches have already shown their preference for him.
Cruden is our number one 10 but Soap isn't far behind him and impressed coach and selectors in SA.
>>
>>66812325
I go back on that. Ben Smith played centre against Ireland. They gave Fagg another chance.

Soap is arguably the best kicker in world rugby at the moment, I can't believe you'd leave him out. Cruden is a better playmaker, but he just doesn't make up for it with the points he drops with his boot

I agree with you if Cruden doesn't drop the ball and can keep his form up above soapaga he is an easy pick.

Your mate above saying we are on retirement watch might not have known about ""our"" """"depth"""" in every position that a player has retired from
Forward pack is as strong as ever
Outside backs are as strong as ever
Kicking has taken a knock
Mid backs have taken a knock
The biggest knock us to our leadership on the field hopefully we can still keep disciplined and make sensible decisions
