Modern Centre forwards need more quality than just striking the ball well in front of goal (which is still an unbelievably rare trait and very valuable). They need to be able to string a couple passes together, create space for other players, win the ball back well if they lose it, hold the ball up and run in behind the defenders (Kane is sub optimal at both in both of these areas imo). A striker can't be really selfish anymore, he has to create for his team mate's. If a one dimensional striker has a few bad game's and can't score it's like the team is basically playing with ten men, but if they have a striker who doesn't need to score to have a good game they are still playing with eleven men. The best example right now is Suarez.

Kanes still a young player and thats typified by his slow start to this season. personally I think Kane has the ability to become our best striker but he's still relatively young compared to Vardy who worked super hard and reached his peak now ... which is better than kane.
Personally I'd utilise both of them now at the euros which takes pressure of Kane and when vardy inevitably slows down Kane will have the international experience needed to lead the line for England.
Its still pretty baller for a player who had such a good season last season to score 20+ again consecutively, even if it did take ages to find his form again. He'll learn from it though and be even better next season.
