There is no easy position for Yzerman. After Stamkos you have Kucherov after a career best year, Hedman and Bishop. Then Johnson and Palat. There is no possible way he can keep all of them.

I dunno about that. Vinik has shown himself to be very business savvy and able to make things happen easily. He's really grown the team since he took over with all his charity work and other community stuff, including building up Channelside. If Stammer does go, I think he'll be able to shift things around without too much trouble; I'd be surprised if he doesn't already have some plans worked up in the eventuality.
Obviously, Stammer is the favorite and the captain, but around the stadium and in advertising, they've done a good job of getting lots of players face time so that it's not a one man show. But if fans of other teams don't see that, I can't really blame them.
