I'm not sure Stamkos is what Detroit needs to be honest. They need to address their abysmal defense. Also I can't see them offering him anywhere close to what he will ask for. Although there's a small number of teams who can actually eat that much of a salary. Speedsters like MacKinnon usually peak very early but Barkov has already passed him in everything and it's not likely going to change.

Well, as of right now monahan and barkov are easily the best players from that draft. It's hard to tell right now though because they're only 21 years old. I still think mckinnon will get a lot better. You have to understand that barkov plays with Jagr and hub. Huberdeau is slowly turning into a stud.

Jagr and Hubs are both playing with Barkov.
Barkov is leading that line in ppg and covers for their defensive lapses. Jagr is not exactly in his prime anymore and Hubs is purely a complementary piece.
MacKinnon has loads of talent around him. He just isn't too smart with the puck and often tries to pull shit that just doesn't work in this level.
He clearly has trouble adjusting to the pro game, unlike Barkov who only had to adjust to the speed of the small rink, because he turned pro when he was 16.
