Hi, I been a lurker on here for a while, got addicted to cricket last summer ever since I been watching cricket nonstop. As an American its been hard finding the cricket material, such as cricket bats, and pads, but I got the equipment.
A week ago I saw a fb post for a cricket club in my college, so I got exited to play some cricket. I had an assumption it was going to be a bonding experience with my fellow cricket lovers, but it turned out I was singled out, no one would talk to me, people talking about my amateur cricket skills behind my talk. Maybe it was the demographics that singled me out. I was basically the only American, the rest of them were all either indian or pakistani.
Maybe this is why cricket is not growing in the States, because the game is not inclusive at all. :(

The newest IPL team was given an absurdly horrific name (even by IPL "standards") so that it would mirror the initials of the franchise's owner. Again for the comparison, the BBL franchises are all owned by the State associations. Where the IPL is corrupting cricket for the benefit of a few, the BBL is growing it.
