You absolutely can have CBs who play either every match or nearly every match without needing a rest and you will have players who can only play 10ish matches before needing a rest but its dependent on a lot of things. How hard they're training and how naturally fit they are being the critical things as well as how spaced out your fixtures are and how much your tactic requires them to exert themselves in matches.

I agree, I had the most fun playing Chester in the lower leagues. Granted I had some major luck in that game, getting a based regen on the first year and selling him for a million+50% of next sale which brought me another 4-5million and allowed me to stay financially afloat otherwise I'd go bankrupt in a couple of years. I ended up emotionally attached to Dave Chappel that was at the club when I started, didn't want to let him go and he was with me till I stopped playing.

Unless your scout says that he might be the best in his generation, is professional, ambitious (already has decent determination), no injury issues and you have buckets of cash to spare, no. 30M€ for an unconfirmed player is too much for me. Them telling you that he's worth 30M€ is also the game's way of telling you that the player isn't for sale unless you can afford an absurd bid, which seems to be the case here. yes, and their averages were a solid 2-4 points higher than ours in every single attribute except jumping. they did field a turbomanlet at CB because juan jesus was out, but their other CB was fine in the air, and that only indirectly helped with 1 of our goals
they played a pretty attack-minded narrow 4-3-1-2, yes.
for me the surprise isn't that we managed to sneak a win against them, it's that we were considered strong favourites going in, and that we somehow managed to win comfortably
