Would they be better if they weren't on the same team?

Durant would benefit from having a true PG.
Westbrook would be about the same anywhere.

Leave it to me

No, they both open up a lot of space for each other
>>66474186
No, they're 2 of the top 5 players in the league. No other team has that.
Their problem is they have no help around them.

No, Durant and Westbrook are at their best as teammates. The problem is that the Warriors and Spurs are in their conference (the Western Conference). Until the Thunder beat the Spurs and Warriors in the NBA playoffs, they won't be considered a championship-caliber team; they'll just be a good team that always loses in the playoffs.
individually neither one can handle too much pressure, the team looks like shit when either one of them goes out (see Durant vs Grizzlies in playoffs)
but together they still work well even when it seems like their skillsets clash. Westbrook's terrorizing drives get Durant a ton of open looks and the spacing that Durant provides gives Westbrook large driving lanes. The Pistons packed the paint all night killing Westbrook's driving ability. They also have really good chemistry in pick and roll and that takes a while to build that with a PG.

Westbrook proves Ninja Turtles don't fit in the NBA.

Didn't /sp/ ask this same question when James Harden left? In hindsight, it seems the answer to that was yes, for Harden at least.
Now, for Durant and Westbrook? Depends on which one you think is cancer and which one you think is carrying the weight.
