Friendlies are practice matches, especially this close to the actual competition. Managers do the last bit of experimentation and fine tuning. Germany very, very rarely chokes when they're actually competing for something.
If I was English I wouldn't hype up the squad too much. They're the anti-Germany when it comes to choking in tournaments.
