I'd consider playing a guy like that in a back 3, with a big CB on either side of him, but unless you're relying on pressing extremely high he'll always be a target for their forwards
you might want to consider retraining him to DM if he has the abilities for it

I could add more teams in the league very easily. The annoying thing is that it would require me choosing teams and putting them in the league to fill the spots. Except that I have to take the teams somewhere, most likely D2. Then I'll have to fill D2 with other teams, then D3 that has like 4 conferences, then D4 that also has 4 conferences, which is a nightmare. I could just put random Yugo teams from the inactive league (if it's even there and that the Serbs did their job correctly) and be done with it: the game will sort it out by relegating them throughout the years.

The WB's are just as effective going forward in the FB position believe it or not.
They still get up and overlap and contribute in the attacking phase, but are much more reliable when it comes to defending in particular marking the opposition wingers.
I have 9 players in my own half in the defensive phase, forming a solid defensive structure with a strong spine. When attacking both CM's join in the attack with Grayson playing almost like a CAM at times.

you have to prevent crosses from happening in the first place. defenders cannot stop wingers from crossing, so you must not let the opponent team get into a osition to cross.

The issue is that I seemingly can't create a Reserve league for most clubs because 99% of the clubs in there don't allow for reserve fixtures. At least the team exists and the AI isn't too bad at creating fixtures for these players so I'll leave it be, unless the AI really won't create Friendlies for these teams. Completely retarded but I don't have the patience for that. Also, Maribor B is in the league somehow too holy shit.

I've only savescummed once and felt disgusted with myself, that was one of those match that my heart finds it hard to take. What's worse is I missed out on the automatic promotion by 8 points, out of all pic related's horrid patch of form I lead the majority of those matches, 3 wins would have been more than enough. Also, due to my coeff editing, Yugoslavia is 22nd in the rankings and 21st in reputation. Better than 50th, not a big improvement but it's still there. Compared to the old version, Olimpija leads much more easily the D2 thanks to those dere transfers. Nothing has changed for Triglav who still struggle to avoid relegation in their D3 conference.

You don't have much margin with that actually. You can tell the game in which regional league the club goes when relegated, but if the game sees that there's an issue between the promoted teams from the inactive division, the geographical position of the clubs and the number of clubs, it will shoehorn it the best it can.
I remember the issue arising in a French LLM database on FM16 that's very well made: in the very low leagues, after a few years, you can randomly find Brittany teams playing in the Corsica league. Breaks nothing besides MUH REALISM, but it's indeed annoying and the editor doesn't give you much options to solve that. league names are just names, and the game doesn't interpret the names as actual "locations". The only way to avoid this wrecking your team and costing you your jerb is to: 1. create categories of prices according to the players potential, ability, importance to the team, etc; and 2. have alternatives ready/scouted

Well, there's also that thing where they bribe the parents of young players with potential by giving them money under the table and fictional jobs or just take 14yos from their families, move them to Zagreb, and let them either swim or drown. They ruin way more talent than they "produce" (since all that talent is bought from other teams either way)

I've tracked player CA two years ago to find out how players grow, what defines their growth etc and I found out that this burnout shit is completely cosmetical. Their CA does not change at all even though there are so many red arrows, and their values don't drop.
This is just an indicator that this player will have a minor stat reallocation and the game kind of sucks at reflecting that.
