I know, but like I said at one point in february Layún was tied with Ozil as the top assister in Europe, yet he's not included there at all.

Every stat is a meme when the suggested meme teams and meme players have incredible statistics in their favour.

Because they're reliant on team mates' finishing ability and the most important/difficult pass in a goal move is sometimes not the final one. Key passes are better but still far from ideal.

Arsefags and other retards are quick to judge Ozil but he's easily one of the best players in the Premier League. Without Ozil Arsenal would be eternally fucked.
The lack of creativity in that team is scary. Honestly, take out Ozil and what have you got? He's only pushing his statistics so high because he's the only player willing to go in to the pockets of space, and field passes in to pockets of space, nobody else can do that for Arsenal.
Check out the assist and chances created stats for the other attackers in that team.

Player A makes a great pass to Player B who just give a cheeky sideway pass to Player C who scores
Player B gets de assist but it was all thanks to Player A great pass and vision

There's also

But then there's also the opposite, where the assist is a player dribbling through the whole midfield, then playing a defence cutting pass, for another player to tap in. Or where the assist is a pinpoint cross.
Over a season the two types probably more or less even out.
