Lets face it, the only real shot he had at winning it was in 02/03, but he wasn't fit enough for the SF 2nd leg against Juve. After that season Real got rid of their only competent defensive players, and during his peak years with Barca and Inter, neither of them were CL challengers. Inter were a UEFA cup side, they were only able to get him because of Nike. You'd never see such a transfer these days.
