I have no idea of what is going on behind the scenes or what actually happened in regards to Mourinho, but if I believe a player mutiny happened (not in the actual sense but more like players stopped performing but never made it known to Mou), then it was the De Bruyne and Mata mentality, of not supporting the team even from the bench, that led to this situation the team is.
What is happening and what happened in 2011-2012 are two different types of player-manager altercations. The old guard did not take shit from AVB but I would assume would remain loyal to Mourinho. This squad is a millennial group of players.

I guess what I wanted to say was that Mourinho wanted players that were going to support the squad, regardless of whether they were going to get a lot of playing time or limited. He didn't want anyone who would let their negativity infect the squad with a tantrum. With the reasons both KdB, Lukaku, and Mata left, it was because they could not stand the idea of having to work for their place in the squad, and thus have that sulking mentality.
It is that mentality that probably has the team where it is right now. The players the team has at the moment are more "me" in their mentality, compared to the 04-05 squad, which was win with the team and lose with the team. The players that show their hard work ethic like Azpilicueta, Willian, Zouma are more like 04-05 squad in their mentality. Hazard, Costa, and Fabregas are the "me" mentality.
