So... after this showing of shit tier bowl games full of blowouts I think it's time we go back to this format instead of letting old white guys decide a top 4 for a playoff.
>>
Why did we give up an impartial computer for a committee that factors in "the eye test"
>>
They could use the computers to rank the teams and still have a playoff
>>
>>64604657
Because you can't bribe computers.
>>
I'm gonna miss that trophy
>>
Sure here yang go.

> Stanford vs Alabama
> tOSU vs Syracuse

Would have been a hell of alot better.
>>
>Muhh old white guys

Back to Reddit you go
>>
>>64604786

Alabama 2015 National Champions!
>>
>>64604657
the committee is so old they can't even stay awake to watch west coast games.

they evaluate teams based off of Sportscenter highlights
>>
>>64604860
And sports center can't show most highlights from the PAC 12 since it has a contract with Fox... And ESPN doesn't like having to buy those replays
>>
I just want an entertaining game. Is this the least entertaining the bowl season has ever been? Not one single game down to the wire.
>>
>letting old white guys decide a top 2 is better than letting old white guys decide a top 4
let old white guys decide a top 8 and that'll give them room to fuck up. there are only ever 3-6 truly great teams a season so its better to include them all plus a few undeserving (which will get eliminated) rather than leave a few of them out and force them to face wastes of space like iowa outside of the playoff
>>
>why can't we stop having a playoff decided by biased committee members and instead have a smaller playoff decided by biased pollsters

This is a fucking stupid argument. The playoff ought to be larger to eliminate error, not smaller. A single title game has a dramatically higher chance of not having the best team in it.

You guys overvalue the computers from the BCS, it was basically always decided by biased pollsters and was a shitshow every year.
>>
>>64604812
2016 RETARD, roll tide
>>
>>64604496
they should just make it flexible depending on how many teams they feel deserve to make the playoffs
>>
>>64605138
How about not letting anyone decide on anything at all. 8 teams, conference champions only. I'm fine with forced conference realignment to balance the top 8 conferences.

I'm ok with this
>>
Does anyone remember last season? Alabama/Ohio State was the only good game. Oregon blew out Florida State, and Ohio State blew out Oregon.

Even the NY6 games sucked except for Baylor/Michigan State, right?
>>
>>64605499
naw last year was the best bowl season in a while

Alabama/Ohio State
MSU/Baylor
Boise State/Arizona
Mississippi State/Georgia Tech

were all great games
>>
>>64605193
lol this, kids don't remember FSU finishing ahead of miami in 2000
>>
>>64604496
Why do people keep saying 5 conferences and 3 randos? You can do 8 cons and even though they will usually lose, being in a top 8 conference still means you get a chance to go to the NFL so there should be more parity the longer it goes.

AAC, ACC, BIG12, BIG10, MWC, PAC-12, SEC, AND +1

We create a new conference out of all the teams that were unable to fit in to discreet 12 team conferences.

Each champion goes to a Elite 8 bowl series. We eliminate a whole non-con game from everyone's schedule. Its easy.
>>
yeah, because the BCS brought us gems like notre lame and alabama, and alabama and LSU

boy what a great system
>>
>>64605561
we played more ranked teams down the stretch though.

>>64605583
>alabama and LSU
Literally no one wanted to watch that shitty game. It was the only BCS I didn't watch at all.
>>
>>64605613
You still lost to Miami though

doesn't matter, miami was better than you, that's exactly why the bcs was garbage
>>
>>64605645

by three points

Doesn't matter, because we lost in the BCS anyway.
>>
>>64605252
This is the only thing that makes sense other than bringing back the computers.
>>
>>64605675
>Doesn't matter, because we lost in the BCS anyway.
proves that the bcs was awful
>>
>>64605252
I'm.....I'm actually good with this

It kinda does actually
>>
>>64605252
Michigan State was a conference champion

Good luck getting those conferences to split up
>>
>>64605793
Conferences will realign on their own. If you're in a conference with a bunch of powerhouses and there's another conference with a few mediocre teams, why wouldn't you switch over since you'd be basically be guaranteed a playoff spot?
>>
>>64605583
>implying that a 12-1 team (Alabama) wouldn't face a 12-0 team (Notre Dame) for the championship with this committee.
>Same with an 11-1 team (Alabama) vs. a 13-0 team (LSU).
>>
>>64605838
You really don't know how this works, do you?
We've gone down in the number of power conferences
>>
>>64605252
>conference champions only

The playoff has proved how stupid this is. It's nothing more than residual crying over the LSU Alabama rematch.
>>
>>64605866
Because right now the system rewards you for being in a strong conference rather than winning your conference. Hence stronger teams cluster together
>>
>>64605901
No
Stronger conferences lead to big piles of money
They don't give a damn about athletics really
>>
SEC
>>
>>64605840

The playoffs would filter those teams out.
>>
>yfw the playoff committee and the rest of the nation were so intent on keeping Ohio St away from the playoff picture

tOSU would booty blast either Alabama or Clemson
>>
>>64606029
Well why are people complaining then?
Did they think it couldn't be blowouts?
>>
>>64604496
isnt Condie on the committee
>>
>>64606063 see >>64605665
>>
>>64606078
Truth be told she is more or less an old white guy
