And that D12 ends a fairly boring night of action. Gary Anderson's reign as World Champion continues despite the efforts of Daryl Gurney. The young Ulsterman took the first set but a number of poor darts on doubles, especially those to win sets, gave the Scotsman an easier win than at this stage last year. The one positive for The Dude is that he is improving tournament by tournament, so maybe 2016 will be his breakthrough year. It would certainly benefit Irish darts.
Elsewhere, Dave Chisnall put in the performance of the tournament so far with a 4-1 defeat of Christian Kist, where the simpleton averaged nearly 103 as the former Lakeside champion bottled numerous checkout attempts to never get close to the Yellow Peril.
In the first match of the night, Jamie Caven eased to a 4-0 win, winning 12 of the 13 legs played, as Rapid Ricky Evans displayed an amazingly underwhelming attitude and lack of effort that Simon Whitlock will be infuriated by. If only he'd played like that for the whole match, eh Shitlock?
