I know it sounds crazy, really I do. After all elbows look like pure violence, the idea of getting rid of them seems retarded at face value. Thing is though, their effect is subtle. It takes away the need to posture up to do damage, it promotes sitting in the guard and just using your short elbows to get some points and win rounds and they're the number one cause of cuts, which are the number one cause of ruined fights.
