Chelsea needs a traditional Brazilian coach (that is someone that is not Tite, Dunga or Mano).

A laissez faire coach that let's the players do whatever they want.

>You don't want to defend? OK. Just score some more goals.
>You don't want to train hard today? OK.
>>
Hello guys.
I'm sharing this info with you. You deserve it - great site.
Mourinho to United will happen tonight or tomorrow. Only thing remaining is contract details to be solved. I have a friend who is a Chelsea youth coach. He said he talked to Mourinho yesterday and that Mourinho said that him to United will be done and dusted soon. Mourinho also said that he wanted United to be thel ast club he manages (and Portugal or England after that). This friend of mine is very honest and has no reasons to lie to me. Nourinho is a fantastic coach and I honestly think this is a great match.

Congratulations, Man Utd, you are sure to win all the trophies from now.
Thank you for your time, /sp/.

Mourinho wasn't just demanding, he was demanding and a coward.
Guardiola also has an idea of how to play, that can easily compensate for some player being out of form. He doesn't seem against rotating.

And Guardiola would be screwed with this Chelsea team. No one can compensate a rebellion. Player rebellions are extremely common in Brazil, even with laissez faire coaches and I have never seen a rebellion not working in bringing down a coach.

>Why was he a coward?
Because he didn't have the balls to drop the players who were not playing well.
Because he didn't have the balls to actually make Chelsea play, to put some effort into making them better than "pass the ball to Hazard and hope he does something", as soon as things stopped being perfect he simply defended and hoped to win 1-0.

Also, I think it's time to take a look at the players Chelsea have and ask yourself if it looks like they have strong personalities and power like the old guard did. It's time to ask WHY there was a rebellion.
>>
>>64381255
Scolari is not the type of manager that the huebro is talking about.
>>
>>64381357

>Because he didn't have the balls to drop the players who were not playing well.

He was dumb, not a coward.

>Because he didn't have the balls to actually make Chelsea play, to put some effort into making them better than "pass the ball to Hazard and hope he does something", as soon as things stopped being perfect he simply defended and hoped to win 1-0.

Is that cowardice?

>Also, I think it's time to take a look at the players Chelsea have and ask yourself if it looks like they have strong personalities and power like the old guard did. It's time to ask WHY there was a rebellion.

Well, they just sacked a coach. There was a rebellion because the players are lazy and don't want to make an effort. Just like pretty much every anti-coach rebellion there is.

No, he was a coward. He was scared of actually risking something.

Yes, it's cowardice. His desire to not concede because his obsession since the defeat to Spurs, that to me is being a coward, being afraid of losing so your first thought is not conceding.

How do you know they are lazy? I mean, Hazard worked on his tracking back (because this is what matters for an AM, tracking back. Who cares if he can't finish, offensive players aren't supposed to score) when criticized him against A. Madrid after having played him half injured, what more could Hazard do?
>>
Why wouldn't Pep come to Chelsea?

>Yes, it's cowardice. His desire to not concede because his obsession since the defeat to Spurs, that to me is being a coward, being afraid of losing so your first thought is not conceding.

Not conceding is the obsession of pretty much every coach (except my fellow Hue coaches that are more concerned with being friends with the players). I would say that every coach works so that he won't lose. And again, you were complaining about a lack of offensive planning.

>How do you know they are lazy? I mean, Hazard worked on his tracking back (because this is what matters for an AM, tracking back. Who cares if he can't finish, offensive players aren't supposed to score) when criticized him against A. Madrid after having played him half injured, what more could Hazard do?

Because they rebelled because the training was too hard and they had to defend.

>>

>Why wouldn't Pep come to Chelsea?

They have less money than City, City would give him more power than Chelsea would and at City he wouldn't need to clean up a large part of the squad (but then, he did clean up Barcelona's squad). City also has more talent from the midfield and up than Chelsea does.

No, they are obsessed with winning.
>you were complaining about a lack of offensive planning.
That's a consequence of Chelsea being forced to not concede. They don't come up with offensive movements, they attack with 4 players at best, they don't have good width because the first thought is must defend.
Last year Chelsea dropped points against good teams always in the same fashion. They went out against PSG in the same way. They still haven't learnt the lesson (though it looked like they did against Sunderland).

>Why choose Chelsea?

Because the pieces are already there to succeed, just like Bayern. City needs remodeling once players like Demichelis, Kolarov, Yaya, and Zabaleta leave. I doubt Pep would be interested in rebuilding, especially when you have nothing to rebuild around (mabye Debruyne, but meh..). Chelsea just needs to replace old man Terry.

I think Pedro is the key to unlocking this move. Pep would be very keen with working with someone he knows very well rather than dealing with someone like Sterling.
>>
>>64381576
All of this is correct, and that's what breaks my heart. Instead of buying players that he club needed, the "committee" has bought the same players, so the squad is imbalanced as fuck.
>>
>>64381505
>What was the safe choice, play Costa and let the fans blame him or play Remy and have the fans criticizing you for picking him? Play Hazard as striker or give Traore a chance?

Most fans actually wanted Remy to play over Costa. They wouldn't blame Mourinho if Remy played poorly.

>No, they are obsessed with winning.

And Mourinho isn't?

>That's a consequence of Chelsea being forced to not concede. They don't come up with offensive movements, they attack with 4 players at best, they don't have good width because the first thought is must defend.

1- You are factually incorrect.
2- Defensive tactics are not cowardly. They are just tactics aimed at getting the best results.
3- Mourinho did have a lot of success with much more defensive tactics than those at 2015 Chelsea. 2004/5 Chelsea and 2009 Inter were much, much more defensive and he had a lot of success there.

>Last year Chelsea dropped points against good teams always in the same fashion. They went out against PSG in the same way. They still haven't learnt the lesson (though it looked like they did against Sunderland).

Mourinho has a stellar league record. He won the league in 3 different countries.
In the Abramovich era, only once they won the EPL without Mourinho.

nearly comrade, the main problem at the moment apart from the defence in the last couple of games has been linking play between attack and midfield, when milner lucas and allen all play together none of them are positive and look to drive into space, only henderson and sweaty turk do that so the game is being played a lot slower than klopp seems to want so we look toothless going forward, especially with benteke who likes to drop deep and hold the ball up, with no-one running past him it's just meh

Yeah, because they had better players with better attitudes.

It is very rare for an elite team to be able to integrate a lot of youngsters in their starting team at the same time. You basically need to be lucky to have an once in 50 years generation, such as Barcelona had with Xavi and Iniesta and co. If you take Barcelona, of their core players, the youngest player that went from their academy to their team is Busquets, that is 27 years old.

There are many young, promising players that end up not becoming elite. Take Brazil, for example. Lulinha, Kerlon, Chera were supposed to be the next great players. Ganso was higher rated than Neymar.

That is the only bright side I can see. Big allocation trips to Leeds, Sheff Wed, Huddersfield, Blackburn, Preston et al, part of me thinks it'll be like 2006 with fun trips to places like Barnsley and win...

Then I remember the probable midfield of Bridcutt, Gomez, Buckley and Rodwell then I break down.

But the players I mentioned (Ake, Kalas, Omeruo) aren't coming from the academy they're coming back from full seasons/multiple season loans, with much experience. And I specifically mentioned them and not someone like Piazon but I know for a fact that these guys can be viable subs for the squad, Ake has starting potential but considering most Chelsea fans forget the loan players they don't see the progress or sheer talent some of these players have.

>Ganso was higher rated than Neymar
Heh, I watched that Santos team in 2010, especially when Robinho came back on loan. I don't remember Ganso being rated over Neymar, it was Neymar that people wanted in that 2010 WC team, although Ganso at the time was being touted as the next Kaka for Milan, lmao..

I wouldn't mind a year in the Championship as a Newcastle fan. The league looks tougher than the last time we were there though so we might struggle to bounce back up.

Swansea is a pretty good day although going there on a Tuesday night in January will test that theory.

Most of the loaned players have a huge problem getting in lower sides.

People wanted both in the 2010 WC team. At some point, people thought Ganso would be the next Kaka and Neymar the next Robinho.

Have a stupid question to ask

Article I read said Leicester may have a hard time holding onto Mahrez when the transfer window opens. Now I don't understand that - the team isn't under any obligation to transfer him regardless of what they are offered right? Did the writer do you think just mean they might get an offer for him that they can't refuse?

Thanks guys. I don't know too much about this sport but I watched the last 20 minutes of the Arsenal Man City game yesterday and it was really exciting to watch so I've been on a learning spree. Still need to decide what team to support
>>
>>64399264

they are under no obligation to transfer him because he is under contract but if he runs his contract down he will walk away for free and every year they wait his value goes down as his contract dwindles, so if a club gets a really good offer for a player they have to balance their desire for the money against how big a blow his loss will be to the team and how much time he has left under contract
>>
>>64399338
Yeah that makes sense, the way the article phrased it I was wondering if there was some sort of clause in his contact that if a team offered X amount he had to be transferred but that sounded stupid to me

Thanks

Other times clubs give in because players will go on strike if the club won't accept a bid for the player.

He's either heavily autistic or a rusemaster.
>>
>>64399364
That is a thing too, for example in Spain a minimum fee release clause is a necessity for every contract. 99% of the time they are retardedly high though so it's just a formality. Cristiano Ronaldo's is the highest atm, think it's something like one billion euro.

In saying that, Pedro from Barca signed for Chelsea after they triggered his 21m buyout clause. There are many variations, such as a release fee only for foreign teams or teams from a higher division. Very few contracts in English football use these so if you hear talk of such a thing in the news, most of the time it'll be bullshit.
>>
>>64399304

Well as a foreigner it's only going to be fun for you if you support one of the big teams that actually have a chance of winning something, like Arsenal or Manchester City. Personally if I could choose which club to follow (a luxury not afforded to English born people) I would follow Arsenal.

>>
Loving how United "fans" unironically want Mourinho to take over kek

They are willing to accept "Mr. Chelsea" not because of his playstyle or management skills, but because he has a reputation of winning

United "fans" go on about the "United way" of attacking football and playing youth, but under Mourinho that would essentially be all over

I don't. I'd rather keep LvG than have that toxic cunt anywhere near my club. This is a terrible idea.

Like to think my opinion holds a little more weight than the millions of flip plastics but sadly it's not true. Just the next chapter in our saga of descent.
>>
>>64406168
It's more about how terrible Van Gaal is.

Winning 1-0 every match under Jose would at least mean a goal gets scored by United.
>>
>>64406144
if he goes, I'd rather he go for pep or mou. if we're just going to replace him with giggs then there's no point.

I'm on the fence about mourinho though, on the one hand he'll guarantee success and get united in a stable top 3 position. on the other hand he'll fuck the youth and could potentially leave the club in a mess once he goes. there's also the whole circus around him too, his post match interviews this season under chelsea were an embarrassment

people go on about mourinho's negative football, but at least he can beat the shit teams by more than 1 goal. van gaal is on another level of boring and I'm sick of it.

really wish we'd get pep though
>>
>>64406168
I don't think any United fans want Mouyes desu. It's more just the media's (and Mou's) imagination.
>>
>>64406304
>he can beat the shit teams by more than 1 goal.
Chelsea has score more than 1 goal 5 times so far, and they won 3 of those games. League only though.
>>
>>64406304
At least he probably wouldn't loan out our best young player so he can sit on a bench in Germany when the club is desperate for someone who can make a difference in the final third
>>
>>64406133
>>>//Talksport//
>>
>>64406350
yeah loaning januzaj has to be one of the craziest decisions LVG has made. he trims the squad so he can use the youth some more, yet he puts wilson and januzaj (arguably the 2 best and most experienced youth players) out on loan. its ridiculous.

>>64406345
well that's this seasons chelsea, there seems to be a lot more going on behind the scenes compared to last season and the season before

Mourinho does play youth. Zouma is 21 years old, he played Santon, Varane and so on.

It is not always that he prefers older players. The Chelsea he built in 2004 was a pretty young team that lasted a long time.

The young United players are Martial and Shaw. I can't see why he wouldn't start them. Mata is screwed.
>>

Mourinho gave 5 academy graduates full team starts in 5 years at Chelsea.

Given 23 starts to academy players in his entire 15+ career.

Most of them in irrelevant games or during injury crisis:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3317277/Jose-Mourinho-s-abysmal-record-promoting-youth-players-exposed-Sportsmail-reveals-handed-just-five-starts-Chelsea-academy-starlets.html
>>
>>64406454
He developed a pretty strong Chelsea in 2004. The Real Madrid he helped to build was also a strong team that kept strong.

What happened to this Chelsea team was different from what happened on Real. The Real fallout was over him and Casillas having a fight on how to treat Barcelona players. Not on how they liked the way the club was going in terms of youth/tactics. Varane became a superstar under him and Morata had plenty of opportunities.
>>
>>64406454
He's always been at poisonous clubs. Lasting 3 years at Madrid is impressive in itself. Inter are perpetually retarded and Chelsea is basically the Third Reich Mk 2. At United he'd have a stable hierarchy provided he doesn't piss them off by raping the tea lady for the sake of mind games

In 2004, Chelsea's youth academy was shit. Or do you think Wenger would make a star out of Jimmy Smith, John Swift, Anthony Grant and Steven Watt?

Chelsea fans have unrealistic expectations of youth. A good academy will give you a great, starting quality player once every 4 years or so. The youngest Barcelona starter that is a youth product that was promoted is Busquets, for example. He is 27 years old. Bayern only has Muller that was a youth product. And he is 26 years old.

For super elite teams, you can't expect much more than that. The Xavi, Iniesta generation was a huge outlier.
>>
>>64406472
true about martial and shaw, but there are others like pereira, januzaj, lingard and wilson that can make the step up. I fear he'll just sell them off as soon as possible

LVG at least gives them a chance, even if he does give them chances in the most retarded of circumstances. and at times he gives chances to the wrong player, I'd rather see pereira get more chances than powell. part of me just thinks LVG throws on these random kids so he can enjoy all the praise he'd get for being a tactical genius if that young player ever manages to win the game
>>
>>64406516
Sure, I won't argue against his record at early Chelsea.

But in recent times his work really hasn't been that impressive, and the media will still be right on his back if he comes straight into another English job. They haven't had that break to forget how much of a cunt he is.

Nothing he did in his 2nd run at Chelsea was particularly great, he took a team with the 2nd biggest wage bill + transfers, and finished 3rd, 1st, and relegation fight.

The title he did win was during a season where everybody else was pretty shit.

Mourinho may be good for United, I doubt long term, but i'd much rather they got Mourinho than Guardiola who could set them up for a long, long time and maybe become a legend at the club
>>
>>64406596
Whilst that is true. It's a worry how badly he's fucked up with the likes of De Bruyne, Lukaku, Matic.

So like it's very possible he'd sell Martial in order to play Rooney every week.
>>
Van Laal a shit
>>
>>64406597
Do you really expect a team such as Manchester United to have 4 academy products of roughly the same year becoming starters at the same time? If you are very lucky, two of those four guys will be "decent starting material". If you are very lucky, one of them will be a superstar.
Having the luck of having 4 youth products of roughly the same era starting is something that happens very rarely.

Even in Brazil, where the teams are shit and the youth academies are good.

>>64406607
Without Mourinho, how well Chelsea was doing? They won the EPL once (1 point of difference) and the UCL once, where they had a lot of luck in beating better teams. Heck, a Brazilian team beat them in the CWC.
>>
>>64406657
nah I don't expect them to become starters, just decent bench players at least. players who can start against the bottom half teams and still do well. if they're developed further and become a first team starter, that's a bonus.
>>
>>64406648
Matic was not a Mourinho sale.

The problem with De Bruyne is the same problem with Mata. Mourinho decided to bet everything on Oscar. He thought Oscar would be a world class player and sacrificed those two. Btw, Oscar is the same age as De Bruyne, it is not like Mourinho was taking him away to play an old player. He sold De Bruyne to play someone that had the same age. And that was a mistake.

Lukaku was a huge mistake, IMO. Probably not due to age, as he is not worse than Remy.
>>
>>64406732
>as he is not worse than Remy.

No, he is significantly better.

tbf I thought Oscar was going to be GOAT too
>>
>>64406702
Then, you are more realistic than Chelsea fans.
They think Chelsea should start a bunch of youth products.
>>
>>64406760
He was never that great in Brazil. The one that most people expected to be the great Brazilian AM was Ganso.

At a point in time, he was higher regarded than Neymar.
>>

>>
>>64406803

>>
>>64406442
Pretty much the same as what it is now.
The bottom 3 wont be 27-27-27 to 34, there'll be a huge scrap for that TV money. Smaller teams currently in the top 10 will drop off and one of the big clubs will revive and get top six.

Leicester fan all my life, really seems surreal right now. As long as the lads keep playing well I'll be happy. Preparing for any emotion
>>
>>64406764
No, we don't. We think that given how shit things are, some kid can't be worse than the players on the pitch. It wasn't even a bunch, it was mostly RLC (who Mourinho said was going to get some play time) and Bamford because it's a joke Falcao was signed, people don't even talk about Aké.
